Snape's memories is the best scene in the whole movie!
Richard Roeper said that Rickman gives an oscar nominated performance for supporting actor. i 2nd this, and i haven't even seen the movie yet :-D
I would like to see the film again as I have to let it sink as said above first but I have to say the prince tale is very close to the best scene ever in the harry potter series.
A random trivia fact that those who haven't seen the film yet may find it fun: this film marks the only Harry Potter film with in-film English subtitles.
I know this is kind of a random question, but for those who've seen the film in 3D, do the subtitles pop out in the third dimension or do they stay in the 2nd, lol?

Hmm, subtitles always pop out in the third dimension here for English hard-coded subtitles and Arabic subtitles. so AFAIR the parseltongue subtitles pop out too, don't worry it's not annoying or anything.
SPOILER FOR THOSE WHO DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHICH SCENE IT IS:
It's when Voldemort talks to Nagini as he kills many people in the Malfoy Manor scene, it's rather chilling really.

Thanks, I don't mind it, I was actually hoping they would do that. That's why I asked, because it's effective use of 3D.
I can only give it a 6/10. Hopefully when I see it again I'll like it more, but I doubt it. My expectations were so, so high, and it just didn't live up to them. It didn't do justice to the book, or DH pt. 1.
i agree absolutely. i would give it a bit more though 7/10. or in owls terms acceptable
To see my review you will have to go to my other thread. You all will enjoy it and after a few viewings you guys will love it. Just accept the differences from the book. They are not that huge. I give the movie 9/10
ok, I didn't know where to post this but one more random Trivia fact: - All David Yates films include a shot of the camera going through a window, a thing that probably was inspired by Cuaron's work in PoA.
OMG!!! GUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUYS I'M IN SHOCK!!! I LOVE EVERY BIT OF THIS FILM, I cried during the epilogue, the prince's tale and when harry sees the fallen ones OMG!! I'M so DEPRESSED right now!!!! I mean, it's a really, really perfect ending!

The Prince's Tale was the single most amazing thing I've ever seen in film.
From start to finish it was on par and above every good movie I've ever seen, digging to the emotional core so much the fighting going on was just an added bonus. Will definitely require repeat viewings. I've never been so still in my life like I was from Snape's Death onward. Wow. Wow. Wow.
11/10
Outstanding
"If you make yourself more than just a man... If you devote yourself to an ideal... You become something else entirely- A Legend."
I'm speechless, and I really don't know what to say.-
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 is just... MAGNIFICENT. There's a joy inside me that cannot be described, and I feel extremely nostalgic.
The film wasn't just epic and extremely emotional, but defining. It defined the spirit of our generation in a breathtaking way. Through the middle of war and destruction, there is still hope, and we've got to fight.
THIS IS THE END OF AN ERA. An era that has been beautiful, changing, momentous, magical; that will go down in history and remain in the hearts of people forever.
This is not my review, nor is it a post in which I post the flaws and details of the film. It is just a reaction from a fan that followed Harry through this epic journey. A journey that also includes all of you, and for that I love you all. THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF A LEGEND, OUR LEGEND.
I could care less about the rating, complaints, and reviews; because in my heart EVERYTHING IS PERFECT.
I'll post a sort of review. I just saw it an hour ago, and I'm all emotionally overwhelmed and crazy right now, but I think I can form an opinion at least.
A lot of stuff happened in a short period of time. For a first watch, it was intense, things happened so fast and I wasn't entirely ready for it. But still, everything was great. If anything, it was the speed of the events that threw me, but I think that makes sense. Things were really fast up until Snape's death, and then things, appropriately, slowed down... It was great, dramatically, to see that happen.
The best thing about it was clearly, to me, the acting, the direction, the cinematography. The emotions were just... Brilliant.
Worst things about it... The battle could have been longer but, it was not a movie that was focused on the battle, so much as... The individual action sequences and the emotions running through them. So to me, that was passable. I really don't think there were many weaknesses here. The pace was shocking, but very appropriate.
The standout scenes for me were the Prince's Tale, Snape's Death (his line delivery... My God, fantastic), the scene where we see the bodies in the Great Hall, King's Cross, the Resurrection Stone scene and Harry approaching Voldemort, Harry and Voldemort's duel, the Procession moment and Voldemort's speech... Hell, I wasn't even a fan of the epilogue in the book but I liked it in the movie. I liked basically every scene, but the latter half of the movie was the most powerful and moving to me, naturally, and thus was the part I find the best.
It is clearly all climax, which is a bit shocking, because a typical movie would have a different pace: not as fast, and you wouldn't be hurtled into it so suddenly. But, once you gain your footing, it works. Emotionally exhausting, satisfying, great to look at, and just very immersive in many ways. The acting is one of its greatest strengths. Everyone was great. Daniel had my utmost respect: clearly, his best performance as Harry. The other two, Rupert and Emma, were also at the top of their games. And Rickman? I can't say enough about him. Then again I doubt much needs to be said. The performance speaks for itself.
9/10 I'd say. I can't wait to see it again and digest it.
oh my goodness what a movie.....i know were all seeing it but if not.....SEE IT.....i have to see it again tomorrow. althought some stuff was a bit off it flowed well. slow clap for epicness
Do I have ANYone with me when I'm saying my favorite part was the moment Voldemort was laughing like a kid having his birthday, because he killed Harry Potter? It was so good, hilarious, frightening and cold.

Is it for Ron opening the door or what?
