I don't think some people from IMDB are legit.

    It's not cut.

Snape is crying and tells Harry to take the memories. He's sobbing quietly. Harry presses his fingers on Snape's throat to reduce the bleeding. Snape says 'Look at me, you have your mother's eyes' and dies.

It is in, they've just added the unnecessary... 'You have your mothers eyes'

That's not unnecessary...the reason Snape tells Harry to look at him is BECAUSE he has his mother's eyes, and they are the last thing he sees before he dies.

Agreed. In the movies, Harry is told this by people who loves him and loved his mother. It is perfect for Snape.
The added line certainly gives meaning to all the talk about Harry having Lily's eyes.

So, in other words... it wouldn't be corny, inappropriate or anything other than that of the sort, if Voldy said 'Come to die, because i want you to'? Or if Snape said 'I always have done' instead of the emotionally powerful one word of 'Always'? The answer is... yes, it would. The same goes for thisone as well, you see... no matter what you might say, it does affect the original, and a great deal at that!

It gives meaning to the somewhat repetitive line throughout the series. It gives me chills thinking about the scene.

The Princes Tale gives it enough meaning already. All this does is further the repetitive line.

Snape could have said "look at me... let me see her eyes again/for the last time, Harry" instead, if you like that better, Stafford, but audiences need to be spoon-fed to understand the connection, you know. In this case, it's worth it.

Then that would have been better. this one is almost sounding trivial... 'By the way, Harry, you have your mothers eyes'

It doesn't matter, Rickman would end up delivering to line perfectly that there would be nothing wrong with it.

(in response to LordStafford)... yeah, as if no one had told him already. Snape must have been thinking that it was important information to pass on to the boy. :-))

I disagree, It's not "by the way"...the line "Look at me" and "You have your mothers eyes" are basically the same meaning. Not two different things.

Then why repeat it twice? The last line is to clarify for the audience why he wants him to "look at me."

Why the hell does Snape say that? They must take the audiences for a bunch of morons.

It is called a connection to the past movies. A nice one too. It connects all quotes together and given to the one who it means to the most.
    EXACTLY!!!

Well, it's been a while since someone told Harry he has his mother's eyes, hasn't it? The audience probably needs to be reminded. In all honesty, it took me a moment to realize the significance in the book, so I can only imagine for average movie-goers who aren't as familiar with the story as we are. Perhaps the line could be better, but it's kind of cool that Harry hears the same line everyone else has told him one last time. But I definitely understand thinking that it's too much spoon feeding and not giving the audience enough credit...sadly it's justified in many cases, though!

It holds the most significance for Snape though, considering his love for Lily. And I do not think the general audience would remember it or make the connection if he just said " Look at me ". Mentioning Harry's mother brings it all home.

It was a needed line imho. It will make the casual viewer say " Ohhhhhh , NOW I get it ! "

How would you know how it affects it, you haven't seen it! And who cares, it's a great line! They haven't mentioned Harry's eyes being like this mother's since Azkaban I think, so it's nice to have it in. Maybe Snape will smile, and imagine how beautiful will it be to see him actually smile. Is there a point in the entire film series he's smiled when it wasn't out of mockery of someone?

The last time it was mentioned was in HBP-

Slughorn: You're very like your father, except for the eyes, of course...
    Harry: Yes, my mother's eyes.

    Sorry, forgot that :p

something i noticed in dh fight between snape/ mcgonagall and dumbledore/vold... in the books their duels seem quite similar....im comparing the one after ravenclaw tower and the ministry. they go back and forth doing the same knids of magic it looks like. just wanna see if anyone else saw it?

There is no need to repeat the same thing twice, and clarification is only going to be detrimental to the original line. How would you feel if Snape said 'Always... i always have done'? It would change the whole feel of it, just like this!

But they aren't doing that! And that's completely different, adding this line while he's about to die any second is great. And secondly, it's Rickman, he'll deliever anything. And it's not repeating the same thing twice, he's never said Harry has his mother's eyes before to him...
