A sharply directed final chapter that manages to do so much in a relatively short space of time, even the weary will find it hard not to be moved as the epic story draws to a conclusion. As a complete saga Harry Potter is tough to beat, and one that will deservedly define a generation.
"The relationship between Harry, Hermione and Ron is as enthralling as ever but we're still not sure if the on-screen chemistry between them is as electrifying as it is in the books." ummmmmmmm what?

I actually kinda agree that it isn't as good as the books, but I enjoy it on screen nevertheless.
"Harry is aided by his loyal companions Hermione (Emma Watson) and Ron (Rupert Grint) but their journey is a perilous one. Having travelled the globe, the industrious trio realise they must return to Hogwarts for a final showdown." The globe? ARGH Idiots

I don't mean to be a kill joy but that 5/5 review is a user review, not a critic review. Also, the guy who wrote it has given very positive reviews to Transformers, Death Race 2, Pandorum, The Box, and The Voyage of Dawn Treader.
I'm dying to see a respectable source give anything higher than 4/5 (or 8/10). I'm not complaining. Reviews have been consistently very good, but I would love to see a couple of "great" ones.
We have a 100/100 from The Hollywood Reporter. That's not enough?
Guys. I think it's totally irrelevant to count fansites reviews. I've counted Snitch Seeker because it was the first one. We know that every review from fan sites is going to be positive, so I think we shouldn't count it anymore. What do you say?

Well it's not really a 100/100. That's just metacritic's estimation of the tone of the review, which is a practice I really don't buy. For example, a critic who really liked a movie but saw many missed opportunities that he wants to write about will write a review that comes off as more negative than the way he really would evaluate the movie overall, and vice versa.
I won't quibble though. The Hollywood Reporter seems to have really really liked it. We just don't know how much he would give it. I'll be a little happier when we get a couple of 4.5/5s and 5/5s
Henrick, I agree with you. They're Harry Potter fans not film fans. Nothing wrong with being a HP fan (I'm a big one), but these are also films we're talking about. It's much more interesting to see how well they are received as such.

Dont count them, but ppl should keep posting them, its awesome to read them
And Andrew... I was thinking... Maybe the critic is not giving 5 out of 5 because it's "Potter". I mean.. There are a lot of rave reviews and the movie received 4/5. Maybe they think: "Well. I gave 5 stars do Casablanca. How can a Potter movie be in the same standard?"

thats the thing, they save 5/5 for this kind of movie

That's what I was thinking. It's like some of them are uncomfortable giving it a perfect score. And that's fine, at least they gave it a 4/5 and seem to really love the film.

But that's also the thing: I wish for some critics to rank it in that league . It's not just Casablanca or The Godfather that get perfect scores. I think critics give out about two to eight perfect scores per year, depending on the critic. And with great movies (say the best 30 of every year) there's always a number of critics who give them perfect scores (ie. who thought they were the best 2-8 of the year). All the HP movies had a good number of perfect and near perfect scores (9/10, 4.5/5,...). I'm positive that they'll come for this one. I just wish they'd start rolling already.
You all make a valid point about critics not wanting to give out a 5/5, but I don't think it's because it's a Potter film. They are just loathe to give perfect scores to the fantasy genre.
You know, I think the fantasy thing is more of an Oscars bias than a critics bias. I may be wrong but I think it just varies depending on what genres each critic likes more.

Yes, usually the realistic movies or anything thats not Fantasy or SciFi wins.

It plays a part there too, certainly, which is why I think Peter Jackson went out of his way in his acceptance speech to thank the Academy for " looking past the trolls and orcs and seeing the story ".
However, I remember seeing a reviewer on a TV program just raving about " Revenge of the Sith ". He was clearly a Star Wars fan. Another person there was tearing into him for it, accusing him of drinking the Kool-Aid, etc.. ( Oh Yeah ! ) So some may want to protect or hide behind their reputations, others may " look past the trolls " and see the story.
I guess it just depends. Yet, everyone so far seems to be unafraid to express their admiration of it !
Besides, it's really rare a blockbuster receive a 5/5 from a critic, guys. I was checking Empire's website, the last ones to receive 5 stars were Toy Story 3 and Scott Pilgrim.
This isn't negative....it isn't even a review of DH2....but this guy is bitching about Harry Potter, and at first I thought it was a negative review. I read the title and I was scared that the streak would be ruined. http://www.ocregister.com/entertainment/movies-307575-harry-potter.html

Ugh what an ignorant, he doesnt get potter's deep messages
What was the point of him wasting time writing that...? He acts like people actually care to read his ignorant complaints. If you don't like something, ignore it. Don't go off and write an article about how you hate the thing and expect everyone to agree with you like it's common sense.
He didnt really give a reason as to why he didn't like Potter... And lol! He said every normal adult would avoid HP, but he said his sister loves it. What an ass. :-))
K, so he said the series grossed 2bil worldwide. Sorry sir, it's 6.3 billion. And he also said he doesn't know the difference between Dumbledore and Voldemort. If he can't tell who the damn villian is, he has no right to write a large rant about the series. He knows nothing about it. But good for him, writing a random rant on a deserted news site. That's 20 minutes of his life he'll never get back.
Hey, I remember someone posting a link to an article where someone said JKR copied the story and someone posted a hilariously sarcastic comment saying how its easy to just copy concepts and become a millionaire or something like that. Can someone please link me to it? I can't find it. Thank you so much.

But I don't think he should count.

Just relax, buddy. Everything is looking great.
