im freaking out...the theater i go to, the only thing i see online is a midnight showing and it says Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 in Real3D. If they don't have it in 2D, ima go crazy! Can someone help me locate tickets for 2D for my theater because if someone can find me 2D tickets for my theater I'll be 1 happy camper
My Theater is United Artists Kaufman in Astoria,New York.
~I have NOT read the Potter books, only watched the movies FYI.

I got my midnight ones in 2d. I'll already be a little tired and 3D will not help, loll. Plus I'm not taking ANY chances that the 3D may suck. If not, I can see it in 3D for the next 10 times I see it
I am seeing it in 3D first, not that I had much choice because my mum brought the tickets however I am glad I am seeing it in 3D for several reasons
1) the film makers put allot of money and effort into making it 3d so we may as well respect that 2) unless we get 3D DVDs this will be one of the only chances I get to see it in 3d 3) the 3D glasses will help hide the tears if it is sad which it most likely will be
I will also be watching it in 2D when I watch it again

Good points! I, for one, kinda like 3D, and I think Yates shot certain scenes with 3D in mind, i.e. the shot of the dementors floating around Hogwarts, the roller-coaster ride in Gringotts, every scene with Nagini, Voldemort's tentacle robes on the top of the tower and when he is standing on a cliff looking down at the castle, which will look good in 3D thanks to large depth of field.
I have never seen a movie in 3D....well, that's a lie. We bought my son 'Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3D' quite a few years ago and we watched that 3D at home. It was interesting lol. But I've never seen 3D on the big screen, so I'm kind of excited for it.
I'm glad that from that screening one of the reviews said that they did not notice the 3D. I think that's a good thing. I was worried about seeing it in 3D first but was giving it a shot bc I want to see it on the big IMAX screen. I'm glad it didn't affect the person's viewing of the movie and can't wait to see it in 3D

Well, it won't be as good as if you saw Tron: Legacy or Avatar in 3D, but you should also see Transformers 3 in 3D, it's been getting some word that the 3D is above par and it's pretty fun mixed with the action sequences.

I never saw Tron or Avatar. Was Transformers actually filmed in 3D or converted?
Well, all three Twitter 'reports' mentioned that they were all crying when the film ended and one guy said that the 3D wasn't blurry or distracting at all. This pretty much indicates that the 3D is actually good.
I'll watch it in 3D, then 2D and maybe one more time in 3D.
I watched the trailer in IMAX Digital 3D and It was super great....

are all theaters at midnight going to be giving these out?!
If it's only for the midnight show, then I won't get any as my 3D viewing is Friday morning
