I still hope they cut as much of it as possible and still have it make sense, but it is good to hear something about it.

This is excellent news! I was worried about this scene and to finally know that they have filmed some memories makes me so happy!
I do hope they show the Lily memories along with the DD memories.

Hey guys,u know wat I've been thinking: I think they might have Snape killed in DD office!!! That would be great! Wat do u think?!?

In the interview, Dan says that Snape is not in the office when Harry's viewing the memories, so he must die somewhere else.
  • RichardRichard Posts: 48,703 mod
Yeah, but if they were gonna move his death someplace else,DD office would be perfect right?!?
  • Lord StaffordLord Stafford Posts: 27,353 ✭✭✭✭✭
No because as jonny said that in the video Dan said its not in the office plus if it was that would be a bit stupid... just watching Dan as Harry and seeing Snape lying in a pool of blood behind him, thats a bit rude to the memory of him isn't it?, don't you think?... i think if they do change it from the Shrieking Shack it will probs be the Boathouse or some location we haven't seen before or maybe even the Forest! but its still undisclosed so....

I would LOVE it,cause wen I see the earlier films I'd be like"if only snape knew he'd die there",it's much better than him dying in some random place we've never seen. He could also limp onto the pensieve and let his memories falling there then just die on the ground......I think that would be the best change Yates wouldve done in the whole series! I know it won't happen, just saying.....

Well you never know that could happen and i accept that that idea is very good if they were to do the death there! but i still doubt it.

Yeah,I'm sure it won't,just saying that I'd do that if I'd been directing,to have someone die in DD office,it'd have to be Snape....

Naw DD wouldn't have died there, the astronomy tower is perfect cause it's the highest tower and he controls hogwarts, and in the book the chapter is called the lightning struck tower wereas in DH they don't talk much about the shreiking shack.....

Well Dumbledore did die there or are you talking about the different part of the office that has the pensieve in?

Ironic how the filmmakers added many astronomy things such as telescopes and moving orbs/planets in his office in the COS film, before the 6th book came out. And in the POA film, Fred says to Ron ''How would u feel if you'd been thrown off the Astronomy Tower?'' Then Dumbledore dies on the Astronomy Tower in HBP.

I'm saying that I'm glad DD died in the tower, his office wouldn't be a great place for him. The audience feels bad he died and fell off a tower, off of hogwarts. And yes jonny it is ironic!!!

I always thought before HBP that since in the movies Dumbledore's office IS the highest tower, that they would just extend that so that the upstairs bit we've never really seen would be extended out to have ramparts.

I understand what you're saying Braveheart. The thing is that the layout of Hogwarts in the films doesn't really make sense. Hogwarts doesn't have any connection from the Entrance Hall to the grounds. Instead, students would have to walk around the castle, from the Covered Bridge, to the Entrance Hall. I say this because the game of HBP and OOTP lets you roam free around the film version of Hogwarts.

Also, the entrance to Dumbledore's office is located in the Transfiguration courtyard in COS. The entrance is changed to the Entrance courtyard in GOF. Yet, there are scenes in the films in which the camera pans out from the office window to show that the office itself is located ontop of the Grand Staircase Tower.

So, the entrance to his office doesn't connect to the office itself. Bit complicated isn't it!

His office in GOF is located at the very top of the Grand Staircase Tower - see here

But the entrance to his office is nowhere near the Grand Staircase Tower - see here

How hogwarts castle is layered is very complicated,I don't pay much attention to it....

How would Voldemort get into the office to kill Snape? He doesn't know the password was Dumbledore.

  • RichardRichard Posts: 48,703 mod
Well,he could get in by breaking a hole into the tower haha! Then he should throw everything on the floor(like wen he was young wen he asked DD to work there) that be be effing cool! Then Snape limping to the pensieve is epic! All the memories would gush into it mixed with blood:,) Makes me wish I couldve given these ideas to yates *sigh*.....
  • Lord StaffordLord Stafford Posts: 27,353 ✭✭✭✭✭
No way would that work Richard... that would make Voldy look like a whiny bitch chucking things about plus why would he do that and Yates would just see that as an oppurtunity to make it into a comedy wouldn't he? and why would Snape be limping if nothing happened to his legs? lol!

It could work. I mean if there's a flashback or something of wen he asked voldemort for a job. But you're right yates wat make it too comical. And about snape,he'd be limping cause of the snake bite in his throat,he'd be in pain so he's gonna struggle to get to the pensieve while holding all the blood and wat not.....
