Oh goodness, I thought Red Skull in Captain America was bad! Just look at these guys. YIKES!
Your tastes are truly incomprehensible to me, Fury. Truly, truly, utterly incomprehensible. While I grant that some people may not find it to be their cup of tea, Red Skull's make-up is perfectly well-executed, IMO.
I suppose I'm the only one who thinks this looks like great entertainment, with the right mixture between genuine imagination and actually well-executed blockbuster thrills? From a design perspective, Oa and the aliens are staggeringly interesting. I trust Martin Campbell to deliver on something that at least is intriguing.
This is my favorite thing you said in the post. Because it is your opinion. Just like what I said was MY Opinion. And as such, they don't need to be bashed. I end this statement here before I do any of that.
I didn't say that it wasn't a perfectly valid, albeit strange (again, to me) opinion. I said that it was not comprehensible to me, which does nothing to even remotely question the validity of expressing an opinion. Please read it again before becoming too defensive, because I did not say it wasn't your opinion, nor did I say that our rights to expression are any different - you put those words into my mouth.
Furthermore, opinions can be "bashed" without even implying that said opinion cannot be expressed. Would you say that, because opinions shouldn't be challenged or "bashed", debate should be rendered obsolete?
OMG i'm a fanof the Green Lantern series (comics) and this movie follows almost to the dot!! Now why are you bantering on the movie being bad. The concept is good, it will have a good story, and acting is average. Plus the effects are really good soo far and WB had issued another multiple millions of dollars to improve the special effects even more. I thought Thor looked like a horrible movie at first, but look at all the amazing reviews its getting. I don't see anything wrong with it personally (except Blave Lively who's horrible as Carol Ferris) not because i'm a fan, because i love movies, and this one looks SICK!!

The effects in the trailer need a lot of work, imo.
I like to have fun but not at the expense of shittiness. I don't think that if you're just making an entertaining film that it can be stupid and poorly made because hey, it's just entertainment! No. I like my entertainment to be of good quality. This is why I hate the Transformers films-- they're just "mindless entertainment" but they also manage to be more than mindless: they're stupid. There's a huge difference between mindless, and dumb. Ever seen Terminator 2, or Aliens, or Star Wars? These are well made films in the "mindless entertainment" department.
I suppose I'm just spoiled because I grew up in the 80's, back when summer action films actually had craft and good writing.
