So The Fast and the Furious flicks have always been a guilty pleasure of mine. I love cars and I love actions movies so these are right up my alley. I know a lot of people hate them but these films also have a HUGE following too.

Anyways, saw this during a midnight showing on opening night with a packed theater and I've got to admit . . . it was great fun. I've come to really like these characters but the action in Fast Five was top notch. The best part is most of it is real stunts and action . . . very little CGI and they only use it when it would be impossible to do otherwise. The addition of the ROCK was a BIG bonus and that scene after the credits . . . the whole theater erupted when they saw it.

So if you like good old fashion action movies then you should check it out. By far the best action flick I've seen in years. BTW, It's not doing too shabby on the tomato meter either.

It's a huge spoiler. Needless to say, more than half of my theater emptied before they saw it. It pretty much confirms a 6th movie in Europe.

So far, according to boxofficemojo, Fast Five is estimated to have pulled in $33 million on Friday.

I saw it last night and let me tell that's it's one he'll of a fun ride!! The action is seriously non stop (especially the end chase where at least more than 50 cars get crashed and flipped) and the action is intense. The diologue is extremly clever and a pretty desent story mixed in. The acting was average but well played. Unlike other FF movies, this one is a heist movie. You see like all the preparations and stuff and it's pretty darn cool. If you to one he'll of a good action movie: This is definetly a movie I was surprised about soo GO SEE IT!

    7.5/10

I know some people aren't fans of Rotten Tomatoes, but Fast Five is the only one in the series to be certified fresh at 79%, the first one is rotten at 52%. Might give a bit of an indication. I haven't seen the new one yet, I'll probably wait to rent it...but I do enjoy them lol.

Wouldn't that make it the highest opening weekend, thus far, for 2011? (I can't think of any other movie which has surpassed that this year.)

Shit, I never really realized how popular Fast & Furious movies are around here. But appropriately, May is opening up and bringing with it the summer's big movies.

I just got back, and wow....I loved it.... nice spoiler after the credits too.
action, drama, swagger, and wit. i love caper movies, and this one was well done. i gotta say, I cannot believe how HUGE the Rock was. I haven't seen him that way since his early days in pro wrestling. he fit in well too, a real hard ass. nice job from everyone.
