The boathouse thing came from a set report from Olumencia.com
  • Yes Greyback will be transformed into a werewolf. I think during the battle of Hogwarts.

I think Moody's death will not be shown completely. I mean that we'll see Voldemort fighting him but it'll cut when he is about to fall off his broomstick. Later it's confirmed he died.

I don't think that Lupin fights Harry. There is a short moment of conflict at the Burrow though.

    Dobby appears at the Burrow.

Dumbledore's story begins from the Will scene. From that moment, there are lots of scenes about him. Talk at the Wedding, Rita Skeeter's book, the whole mystery about the Horcruxes and Grindenwald. Aberforth is also introduced in Part One.
  • Forgot to say thank you dream..it's my first time posting on these boards.

    6. Will there be any cursing in the films?

    7. Have you read the scripts? If so, what do you think of them?

    Thanks again :)
  • My last question. What are they doing with the opening scene of part 2 logo wise? how will the logo come in part 2 Thanks
  • I don't think they'll be any cursing in Part 1.

I have read parts of the script. Mostly about the descriptions of specific places. With the help of the art department supervisors, David Yates and Stuart Craig we start working on the maquettes of various set pieces. As I've told you, though, it's the only film that its script keeps changing. They've even reshot 2 scenes. :)

I don't know about Part 2's Opening. I am sorry.
There are no words yet about Part 1's Opening because they don't know how to open the film. They're still in negotiations. Furthermore, Part 2's opening is ambiguous. It may open with Malfoy Manor or with Shell Cottage.

The crew already filmed the scenes in which Hagrid leaves Harry in his arms, and Neville cut off Nagini's head?

Why the set of the forest on which Voldemot will stay will be "different of anything we've ever seen"?

The cast mirim to act the children of Harry and Ginny, and Hermione and Ron on epilogue have been cast? Can you give us some names?

There was some cut in this movie that let you really sad?

    8. What's going on with Greyback here? This was taken when they were shooting the snathcher chase on location.
  • Guys I've got to go now.
    I hope I've helped a bit.

    Goodnight you all.

Ahhh! Im too late! well these are my questions from the other forum..

please tell mee that Ron/Hermione's kiss is going to be really passionate and not just a kiss like harry and ginny in HBP.. ( I think that H/G's kiss was appropiate for the film, but R/H has to be more than just a little kiss!!)

is it going to be really violent? Like do they really show the trio being tortured? is the ron and harry confrontation going to be mild or do they really get angry and fight?

PLEASE TELL ME THAT when harry discovers he has to die is going to be REALLY REALLY EMOTIONAL.. not like when sirius and dumbledore died.. no wait. please tell me that both movies is going to be emotional.. like fred's death.. the whole thing with snape.. when ron leaves.. when hermione is being tortured and ron is really desperate.. do they really show that harry feels betrayed by dumbledore?

Are they going to show Fenrir Greyback all creepy and perverted with Hermione?

Are they going to show Bellatrix and Voldemort's... err 'romance' ?

Are they going to show more moments between Ginny and Harry apart from the kissing scenes?

are they going to make it for the release in november for DH part 1? I mean they are going to wrap up in mid-june.. and they still need to make all the stuff in post-production, how the hell are they going to manage it!!!?

  • how big is scrimgeours part?

is there any more interaction between tonk and lupin? cause there was hardly anything in HBP
  • LCbaseball22, he already answered that in the first page

    dream's quote:
I don't know about the diadem, Chris. But I know that Bonnie Wright's double was on set the days they were shooting the Fiendfyre sequence. So there will be an explanation. Sorry but the entire Battle of Hogwarts scenes have been changed too many times. Steve Kloves is still changing stuff. And they've even reshot two scenes. I guess they just want to fill all gaps.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

  • Bonnie's double was indeed on set yes.
I know that Rupert was supposed to shoot a scene in the Room of Requirement sometime in June/July (I'm not sure when exactly) though.
And I've seen an artwork sketch where Hermione runs in a Room of Requirement 'hall'. Though I'm pretty sure Ginny is involved.I know there is some explanation coming from her about the diadem and I know her double was on set.
I am pretty sure Draco Malfoy is involved in the sequence as well. I know he was filming it for sure.
I guess they're all involved. I know that exactly before that scene we see Ron and Hermione in the Chamber of Secrets, along with Death Eaters scenes trying to invade Hogwarts Grounds and the Order of the Phoenix preparing for the battle. So the Fiendfyre scene comes right after these scenes.

    Truthiness,
Scrimgeour's part isn't big I think. He appears in the first half of Part1.I know he has two Ministry of Magic scenes and scenes at the Burrow. I don't know about anything else I'm afraid.

There is interaction between Tonks and Lupin at the Burrow. I know there's a scene where Tonks is worried about Lupin when they arrive at the Burrow exteriors. Logically there must be something else as well.

    Few updates:

They're shooting scenes at Hogwarts this week. A gigantic battle sequence is underway. Warwick Davis,Daniel Radcliffe,Rupert Grint,Ralph Fiennes,Alan Rickman,Jason Isaacs and Tom Felton are surely on set. I think almost the entire cast is on set but they're filming a variety of battle scenes. At the same time they're filming some tidbits at the Gringotts and Diagon Alley sets and Ministry of Magic scenes as well. The Gringotts and Ministry infiltration sequences will be completed in February.
An interesting sequence that is being shot is a scene where Voldemort goes to Diagon Alley. I really don't know what happens there. It's possibly a completely new part that Steve Kloves has written. But I know that they've started shooting some tidbits, while Fiennes shoots parts at the Ministry of Magic Atrium set and at Hogwarts castle sets.

I hope I'll be able to come back with more updates sometime this weekend.
    Bye you all.

    superpotterfan,

I don't know anything about Voldemort and Bella's 'romance'.

I think I've answered your other questions previously.

Well yes shooting wraps in the second/third week of June 2010.
They will focus on Part 1 from June to November but they will wrap shooting Part 1 in late February/early March. Except for Ministry scenes, there are very few scenes left (all of them include Voldemort and his 'journey' and few CGI scenes with Death Eaters). I know that they have started working on various scenes: Grimmauld Place, 7 Potters and Burrow scenes. So I am sure that until June they will have finished some parts of the film and that's when you should expect a trailer, sometime around July.

    lilylunapotter,

The epilogue isn't going to be much different but that's one of the very final scenes to shoot, along with the Trio's wandering around the ruins of Hogwarts after the battle is finished. These are going to be the last scenes to shoot and they'll be filmed in June and I've got some work to do until mid/late February so after the Limbo sequence we'll work on the destroyed Astronomy Tower and the King Cross Station maquettes.
So I don't know any details about that yet.

Well Snape's memories are going to be different. Most scenes include Snape and Dumbledore in Dumbledore's Office, on the Astronomy Tower and at Snape's House. There are also few scenes between Snape and Voldemort and Snape and Death Eaters. I don't know anything about young Petunia and young Lily but there are going to be a couple scenes where Snape and Lily are at Hogwarts. But we'll see a scene when they're adults. I also know that we'll see memories of Snape where he creates the Silver Doe, goes to Grimmauld Place and spies on Voldemort.
Overall I think all these scenes are going to be beautiful. They have started shooting parts of them but they'll finish them around Easter. They will use some unique special effects (the ink ones in 'Prince') but with a variety of different colours: the oldest memories will be quite dim, dark and 'washed out' for instance. And as they used the green and black colours in Riddle's memories they will use brown, blue, black and yellow in Snape's ones. Though each memory will have be different in terms of colours. I think this may be the most interesting sequence to watch.

Spinner's End is used in both films, from what I know. I know that it's included in Snape's memories and there's a scene very early in Part 1 where we see Snape and Death Eaters at the street outside his house. I don't know any other details.

    LCbaseball122,

Since David Yates has said that then the Trio is definitely included in the scene. I am 100% Tom Felton, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint had shot stuff. I think that the actor who played Blaise was also on set but I'm not sure if he's included in this particular scene. Maybe he was needed for a completely different scene I really don't know that.
Bonnie Wright's double was on set those days as well. Not Bonnie Wright herself though. But I know that Ginny has a scene at the Room of Requirement corridor for sure.
Now, about Hermione I don't know anything else except that I remember seeing artwork sketches where she's running down an aisle of the Room of Requirement and various objects collapse behind her.

    I've got to go though.
See ya. I'll try to update this weekend!

i would like to know if the scene of dumbledore and snape on the top of a hill is in the film? it's a quite powerfull scene inside Snape memorie's .
  • Hi Dream thanks some much for all the info so far. Its seems to be shaping up to be an amazing end to the series. Loved what Yates & the production team did with Half Blood Prince, I have high hopes for DH.

    1. How are Maggie Smith's as McGonagall scenes being handled? Does she get any action or intense scenes?
As she is old lady & has had a serious illness recently does she have a double? Or are they filming her fight scenes like Christopher Lee in Star Wars (close ups with Maggie/wide shots with a stunt double)
    2. How large would you say Neville's part is? Hope he gets more than in Prince.

    one last question
    http://www.snitchseeker.com/harry-potter-news/exclusive-frank-dillane-reprise-tom-riddle-role-deathly-hallows-69424/

do you know any information about that
  • Hi Dream, I as well, have some questions for you, something that I've been wondering for a long time. Please, answer it:

The Hogwarts in the books, differs from the Hogwarts in the movies:
    - In the books it's described as: the grounds border on the Entrance Courtyard (http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Entrance_Courtyard), that directly leads to the Entrance Hall (http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Entrance_Hall).
    - In the films it's seen as: the Entrance Courtyard (http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Entrance_Courtyard) without any connection to the grounds (the only connection to the grounds is the Covered Bridge at the Clock Tower Courtyard).

    1. How will the Death Eaters 'enter' the castle? It's quite illogical for them to take the Covered Bridge, because that's something the Defenders of Hogwarts can destroy just like that! Will they first penetrate the walls and gates of the grounds, then destroy the protection sphere, so they can 'Apparition-Fly-Movie-Style' their ways towards the castle?
    2. In the chapter 'The Flaw in the Plan', Voldemort takes his Death Eaters and Hagrid (carrying Harry) to the Entrance Courtyard as the exit the forest. But that's also impossible because the Entrance Courtyard isn't bordering on the grounds. Where will Voldemort speak to the Defenders of Hogwarts with the 'dead' Harry lying on his feet? Entrance Courtyard? Clock Tower Courtyard? The grounds?

Please answer these questions, you'd do me a big big favour!

Hi dream_silently. This is my first post and hope my questions are answered.

I DON'T BELIEVE THESE HAVE BEEN ASKED YET.

    1. Do McGonagall, Kingsley and Slughorn duel with Voldemort?
    2. Do Hestia Jones and Dedalus Diggle appear in the 'Durseley's Departing' chapter?
    3. In the 7 Potters, do they all ride on brooms or do some ride on thestrals like in the book?
    4. Can you confirm that Nevilles Grandma will appear in Part 2?

Thank you for tyour time and answering all our questions

Hi Dream, thanks for taking your time to answer these questions :)

    Well here goes:

For the epilogue, I heard they are making them look older instead of recasting... well, for the kids: Are they casting completely new people, or just using extras from previous movies? This is mainly for my own curiosity. And will characters like Draco, Neville/Hannah, Luna...etc. be in the epligoue scene? Or just extras...

I'm assuming, since there isn't a cast list up for the kids yet...that they have not been cast yet. Am I correct in assuming they will be cast sometime near the end of filming, i.e. April or around there?

Thanks again, and the movie industry is fascinating. I am an actress though... but just for school so far, so I'm probably a little bias. Good luck with the movies! - Meghan

    Hi Dream,
I've posted in the other threads but not sure which one your checking so I'll add it here. Can you tell us whats going on in these scenes (are Dean and Luna present?) and why they have Hermione carrying Dobby when she should have just been attacked at Malfoy Manner and too weak to even walk (according to the book). Are they making the attack on her less serious? Thanks so much.

    Hello dream_silently :)
However I know it is out of topic, but I would like to ask you something: Namely, are you aquainted with Stewart Hamilton, the 2nd assistant director? Because you are the only person who could help me: I sent him few days before Christmas one ,,package" to the Leavesden Studios and I need to know if he got it, so could you ask him for this?
Thank you so much and thanks also for all these infos about DH because I trust you :).

dobby? NO!!! it can not be...
when harry followed the Silver doe, Ron and hermiona had got their own child... and the DE's had killed the child... so they are on the funeral... pity... very emotional scene... that's what is going on these pictures...

I don't think Luna is in the burial scene. She isn't in any of the photos. Just Harry, Ron, and Hermione i think. The torture still looks pretty intense if you have seen any of the videos of when they apparate onto the beach. Hermione is like on the ground and gets up and then falls back to the ground. She also has a cut on her neck from where Bellatrix pressed the knife to her throat.

I think it still looks intense, but it has been a little bit of time after when they bury dobby. Harry digs the hole which takes awhile and then they all come out later with the body.

Clearly it is a change, but no more then not having the other boys help Harry dig. Or the change of not having Dean in the scenes at all. I think that they are making this a trio moment which is okay with me.

PS. I don't actually see the purpose of asking subjective questions as to why they changed something. How in the world is this person supposed to know that?
  • Dream

this is probably beyong you control or you might not know but have you seen the first Deathly Hallows Poster? If so wat does it look like

Does Nagani, forgive my spelling eat that charity chick? Do they show the snake eat her. I really hope its shocking
  • Avangelis,
I haven't seen the official Deathy Hallows Pt.1 poster, I'm afraid.

I'm not so sure about this Malfoy Manor scene but I don't think we see Nagini eating Charity Burbage. I am sure, though, that Voldemort does tell the snake to go and eat her.

The scenes at Shell Cottage, I think, are going to be quite heart-breaking and emotional. I know they're going to have a "Burrow-feel" because it will be a temporary safe haven for the Trio. Except for the scenes with Ollivander and Griphook and Harry's vision of Voldemort's plans, the other moments are quite sad and emotional and quiet. I think a very lovely scene takes place at the beach where the Trio talks and looks at the sea waves.

No worries about Hermione's torture scene. Even though I'm pretty certain they wrapped shooting the Malfoy Manor sequence in August I know that Bellatrix casts the Cruciatus curse a lot on Hermione.
And yes when they go to Shell Cottage Hermione falls on the ground and when they go inside the house Ron embraces her as she's shaking.

I don't know anything about the casting of the Potters children. I don't know anything about that scene actually. It's going to be shot sometime in June I think. They're focusing on the action sequences right now.

    Miriam Margolyes returns yes.

They've changed the Hogwarts Grounds but they're extremely close to the wide shots we all saw in 'Prince's climax where Harry tries to fight Snape but fails. The gigantic slope that connects the castle and Hagrid's Hut has been constructed. It's quite reminiscent of the slope in Prisoner of Azkaban but this one feels more like a steep mountain 'cliff' let's say. Imagine the grounds around Hagrid's Hut you all saw when Snape and Bellatrix stun Harry but just expand up to the entrance of the castle. There is a new part of the Grounds that expands behind the Clock Tower as well.
They've built battlements and castle walls that we haven't seen before as well.
Battle scenes take place almost everywhere: at the Gates and forest pathway to the Grounds, the Great Walls of Hogwarts that protect its grounds (there will be massive action sequences there: Death Eaters and Dementors attacking Aurors and Order of the Phoenix members who are guarding the castle), the Hogwarts Grounds (slopes, Hagrid's Hut, Forbbiden Forest, Lake shore, Mountain ridges, hills and ancient ruins), the Bridges (2 or 3 totally I think), the Courtyards, the Great Hall and Entrance Hall and all the main Towers of Hogwarts (Clock Tower, Dumbledore's office tower, Astronomy Tower etc.). Trust me, from what I've seen, it's probably going to be the most stunning and breathtaking 'war' sequence you've seen in a fantasy film.
The first part of the battle doesn't focus on Harry. It shows every little part of the castle and its grounds.
The second part of the battle is quite different because all Death Eaters have gathered at the Great Walls and Gates of Hogwarts and Voldemort and his close 'companions' are waiting for Harry in the depths of the Forbidden Forest. So when Voldemort and his DEs go towards the castleto announce Harry's 'dead' the whole scene happens at the slopes of Hogwarts where the "good" side has gathered at the top of the slopes and all Death Eaters surround Hagrid's Hut and Gates of Hogwarts. Voldemort and Neville are in the middle of the Grounds. So the first part of that second battle takes place at the Grounds and then they enter the castle again and keep fighting. I know my description may be quite vague but there's just too much in both battle sequences.

Natalia Tena has filmed all her scenes for Part 1 and she's currently shooting stuff for Part 2.

Neville's part is definitely important in Part 2. In Part 1, he's featured in few scenes at Hogwarts where he, Ginny and Luna start the rebellion inside the castle.

McGonagall definitely has some action scenes but I don't know how they're supposed to shoot them.
I think the whole climax starts quite impressively when she and Snape have a very 'extravagant' battle scene. Quite similar to the one with Voldemort and Dumbledore. And then come the scenes where the 'Hogwartians' prepare for the battle and go to various places at the Grounds and castle Towers, while Voldemort and his army arrive outside Hogwarts, then we have the Chamber of Secrets sequence and the Fiendfyre battle. And after all this stuff the first battle erupts.
  • Few updates:

More cast members are about to return on set next week.
The Ministry of Magic infiltration shooting will wrap late January/early February for sure. They were shooting scenes with Dementors and Umbridge, from what I know.
The Gringotts scenes are almost finished as well. I know Emma Watson has filmed almost everything and Helena Bonham Carter has some final tidbits until late January. I know the flight scene with the dragon was shot last year so I guess the whole scene will be complete very soon.
I think this may be one of the best action scenes of the films.
The Hogwarts battles are still being filmed as well.
Something interesting: the Dark Mark will be included at the Battle of Hogwarts. I don't know how but I think the imagery will be quite chilling.
  • SophoSopho Posts: 192
Wow, the battle of Hogwarts would be the best battle in the history of cinema O_O

Can you talk about the scene of the trio in Hogsmeade (in pt 1)? Is really important in the film?

    Thanks

    Hi dream
One question: Will be Deatheaters masked during the film? I mean these silver masks used in OOTP.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
  • omg dream_silently thank you for all your time in posting all this information, as an obsessive harrypotter fan, you dont know how much it means to us..
I got really excited with the battle of hogwarts, I had no idea (still I really dont..) how HUGE this is gonna be..
    one question:
Could you describe us the scene when Harry knows he has to die?

    Thanks
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

  • There are masked Death Eaters, mostly in the Battle of Hogwarts.

I am a Harry Potter fan as well superpotterfan and I know how much you anticipate both films.

Trust me, no one knows and no one can fully understand how huge the battle at Hogwarts is going to be. Imagine that they started shooting the sequences in early October, 2009 and will wrap in May/June,2010. Almost 8 months shooting. Of course, they're filming other scenes as well but I'm sure the pure battle sequences (including Snape and McGonagall's duel and Fiendfyre) will definitely last 30-40 minutes. They want to make an epic finale for the series.
I doubt the actors can imagine how stunning these scenes will be. I hope that it will live up to everyone's expectations. I don't think anyone will be disappointed. :-)

Well I think these scenes with Harry haven't been shot completely. Parts of them have been filmed though.
I know that Daniel Radcliffe cries during the sequence. And I also know that the scene where he sees his parents, Sirius and Lupin in the forest, as well as the scene with Dumbledore will be extremely emotional. So overall, these scenes, along with the walking at the castle and its grounds and Snape's memories will be a powerful and emotional part of the film and I think it will be a great 'break' between the two parts of the Hogwarts Battle.

Hey dream_silently! Thanks again for all the info :)
Just wanted to know how the Malfoy Manor sequence plays out. Whether its true to the book with the boys getting locked in the basement while Hermione is upstairs? Does the scene differ much from what it was in the book?

And thanks again for taking the time to answer all our questions.
  • I know it's different.Much more action-packed.
They are seperated yes. Harry and Ron find Luna and Ollivander and Death Eaters guard the place where they're locked.
Hermione is being tortured in the living room, where Bellatrix,Narcissa,Draco,Lucius,Wormtail,Greyback,Snatchers and Death Eaters are present.
The set of Malfoy Manor is quite enormous actually.
And as I had said there are more fights than what you would expect. Harry and Ron fight Death Eaters before going to the place where Hermione is tortured. And when they go, a skirmish erupts between them and the Death Eaters.
Bellatrix is getting a little bit crazier than her normal madness. She destroys half the place because she has completely freaked out, she thinks they have indeed stolen the Cup Horcrux.
So overall the whole sequence must last 10 minutes or more. It's going to be a very intense scene. That's for sure. ;)
Timothy Spall has finished shooting as well, I think. All Malfoy Manor scenes have been filmed.
  • decarusdecarus Posts: 5,953 ✭✭✭
Does Bellatrix know that the cup is a horcrux or only that she has a powerful magical object? Meaning does she accidentally tell the trio that she has a horcrux in her vault when she sees them with the sword? Does Bellatrix say horcrux?
  • I am certain she doesn't. She says there is a powerful magical object and she says that this is a Cup.
I think she asks Hermione if she had taken anything else from the vault and then screams at her if she has taken the cup.
At Shell Cottage they discuss this and Griphook helps them understand that this is the Hufflepuff Cup and it's a Horcrux.
Harry sees young Tom Riddle holding the Cup in the first film but I'm not sure about that.
