Should J.K. Rowling continue with hogwarts and the Wizardring world?

With the seventh book read, it all ended as it should be, but what will happen now?

Can we really live without more of this wizardring world?

What Im saying is should J.k. Rowling leave the wizardring world to rest and work on her next big creation, or are Potter fans craving for more?

I think Potters world offers too much to be left aside, too many wonderful magical secrets, too many adventures to embark.

Miss Rowling could make a book with several short stories detailing the years after " the deathly hallows" including adventures of the new generation of young wizards during their first years at hogwarts.

what do the rest of you think, would it be a good idea to carry on the stories of the wizardring world, or should it be left to rest?

  • I don't know.............there could be more..............you could do so much with what JK has created..............but she did end the series with a pretty good ending too.......................she did mention that as of right now, there is no further plans on any more Harry Potter books...............but she did also say.............but never say never.............so whatever she comes up with next.............I'll read it.............

I dont know either, iw ish she'd done more books cos obviously i didn't want them to end.
BUt wen i think about her starting a new generation of people... it wouldn't really be Harry Potter

Although i do thuink she should have released a book saying what they were all doin, not just the chapter, i wanted to know more!!
  • yer . u're correct , i cant really imagine my life without harry and the cast
i mean , i grew up knowing the name and the story and all.. i really hope there's more
adventure with the gang and their children .

yeah i agree with hp_addict it would be pretty cool with their kids going to hogwarts, or have what happens after voldermort dies like how nevele becomes a teacher or what the gang do after they leave hogwarts

maybe a whole complete different story could be better, also within the wizardring world, with some small reference to HP and things like that.
    a parallel story or something
I'm not much into the next generation of potters' history couse there's not much to tell about them, I mean, if they are also into adventures and stuff it'd be way to clich

So whether you come back by page or by big screen, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home" -J.K Rowling.
  • oh yeah good point rabastan, so like would it be kids who grew up after harry defeated voldermort learn about him and go to hogwarts and be like him?

  • I think it could easily have more books made out of all the mysteries and things, but it just wouldn't be the same as the first 7

  • i would like there to be more hp books and films. they could allways do a film if harry and whoeva he ends up with having a baby or something and see if he/she becomes a hero/famous wizard too.

definitely no books about harry. his story is over and was beautifully and impeccably told. his story arc was so impressively laid out that to make him have another great, multi-novel adventure would not be believable. how many dark lords as evil and powerful as voldemort are going to pop up? and why would they have anything to do with harry? is he going to be part of another prophecy now? no, that wouldn't work. many people have sighted that there WERE other dark lords mentioned in the HP books, so it is likely that another would rise to power in harry's lifetime. but think about grindelwald's story. he was powerful, but dumbledore defeated him and he was imprisoned for years. he was able to be contained. we all know you couldn't contain voldemort. you can reduce him to vapor for a while, but he always comes back, until you destroy him for good. how wimpy, how much less epic would grindelwald's tale seem in comparison to voldemort's, the very wizard who eventually killed him. those books would never stand up against the original series.

but that is not to say i don't think there are more stories to tell. i would very much be in favor of a companion books of sorts, filled with short stories, like the one about james and sirius that jkr wrote for the postcard book, only longer, about places, times, and characters that we only heard about because we were stuck in harry's perspective. for example, there could be stories from the marauder era, or the days of the hogwarts founders, harry's kids at hogwarts. we could finally see what ron and hermione got up to before harry got to the burrow/grimmauld place for summer holidays. that would make a hell of a lot more sense to me.
  • i think a parallel story that is during the same time as the original harry potter books would be pretty cool. i also think a series about james, sirius, and lupin would be pretty cool
  • I completely agree with jonisron. It wouldn't be right to extend Harry's story, it's over and done with, and it was amazing. Even though I do wish it could be longer, and there were more books, I know its just not right. I think it would be awesome if JK came up with stories, like jonisron said, about other characters in the book, people who were just mentioned but not gone into with explicit detail ... I would love to hear about James, Lupin and Sirius some more ... or even just another story set around the Magical World JK has created.

Lets just say, im honestly dieing for more ... and I dont care what JK comes up with next, im just completely excited to read it. Who cares if its Harry Potter or another creation she has been chewing over? I'd just be thrilled she'd decided to write more, it will be fabulous, if and when she releases more of her fascinating tales. 'Cause, to be honest, who doesn't love JK and the joy she has brought all her fans from her books?

Because, all it comes down to, is JK is simply an amazing author, and life just wouldnt be the same without her. Here's hoping she decides to continue in the path she is leading, and writes more.
  • I agree with you HermioneAnnGranger. I personally would like to see Snape's reaction towards Harry when he was given a portrait and the fact that it was Harry who made it possible. Also, I would love to know what Snape thought of 'Albus Severus'. I must admit, I have a soft spot for him after the seventh book, but I suppose that is what Fanfiction is for!

I think a collection of shorter stories would be a fantastic idea, set both before and after the main series depicting the adventures of Harry's dad and children, with some even about Harry's life as an Auror or something. However, I have to admit that it would have to be a massive collection to satisfy me.

PS, Bellamort, Snape died in the seventh book
  • You all have the right ideas and i wholeheartly agree with all of you, but dont you think J K should get some time to have a (semi)quiet life with her family? I mean, i would love to see more books, but she needs a break from the harry potter world.

I think the next step in the H.P. novels would be Harry traveling back in time in to join the nazis since Voldemort was probably a jew, since that would prevent him to kill H.P's. parents since Voldemort was probably jewish.
