Not sure. I really should get the combo pack because there's a blu ray player in my family room, but I just don't like the idea of only being able to watch special features in there and not my room. That's actually one of the main reasons I'm not so enthusiastic over blu-ray because it restricts where you can watch things whereas DVD is universal.
It also bugs me that the case has the little blu ray thing instead of the little picture of Harry like all my other movies do. I'm really OCD about this stuff, and it'll look out of place on my shelf.
Wal-Mart exclusive 2-Disc DVD. I will not get the Combo pack, because it has already been confirmed there is stuff on the 2-Disc not on the combo pack stuff.

I'm a bit OCD like. I'm going to the store with my mom because I HAVE to get the one that's in the perfect condition. I'll get the one that's in the very back. Plus, I'm collecting Comno Packs right now. I have Inception, Shrek 4, and Scott Pilgrim. Hoping to get more this year!
Exclusive 4-Disc Deluxe Edition with never-before-seen vinyl cover and monochromatic case, with 100 minutes in released promotional material (includes trailers, tv spots, and featurettes) with 2 Harry/Voldemort fold-out posters, a collectible Dobby holographic card, and full 170-minute extended edition. Disc 2: over six hours of bonus features and content, including an exclusive look at Part 2. Discs 3 and 4 include 3D and online copies of the film.
I know. We barely get to see any behind the scenes stuff. It's always some sort of "Asking the cast random questions", "Watch Rupert Grint cook dinner" etc. LOTR has the best extras ever made in human history, although it might have spoiled me a bit too much...
I know i always want behind the scenes. Out takes. Making of the scenes videos. And they are always stupid things like you said. Like ask the actors their favorite band or ice cream flavor. I mean who cares.

I know, right? We really only care about the deleted scenes, and any other juicy tibits of info.
seriously, if i see one more making of creatures or something i am going to scream... i dont care.... i want cast only features... and extensive deleted stuff indeed..... maybe someday....

Yeah but where does that say the 2-disc has stuff the combo pack doesn't? I noticed the 2-disc special edition doesn't say anything about the WWoHP trailer and a digital copy. But neither does the combo pack on their site, so I was wondering if they just weren't listing those features. Well the combo pack DOES mention the digital copy, but that's only because it's in the copy. I don't think they really mentioned the digital copy on the 2-disc HBP edition, but it has one.
And it's always the same questions.
"How has Harry Potter affected your life?" "Oh, well it's been a huge part of my life and I love the cast and crew and it's affected me so much."
"What can you tell us about the latest Harry Potter film?" "Well it's the best and darkest one yet."
I mean, REALLY?
Yeah . We don't even get to hear about the real drama on set, like how Emma Watson and Tom Felton don't get along.
Do they really? I've heard that, but I didn't really believe it. I agree that the extras overall are pretty lame and underwhelming. I remember liking that one in HBP where they showed all the aspects of film making, though the dialogue from Matthew Lewis and Alfred Enoch was way too scripted and cringeworthy.

That's not correct. The Blu-ray Combo Pack has everything you need, and more features than are included on any other edition/format.
Also the description for the 2-disc DVD on Walmart seems incorrect. It appears to be describing the Blu-ray instead with how it mentions Maximum Movie Mode (which is a Blu-ray exclusive feature) or maybe it's done differently for the DVD... interesting.
I would say "the one with the best cover" but if I stuck to that particular mantra, I wouldn't own any of them.
Honestly I'm thinking about Photoshopping a custom cover. I'll make it the proper size so that it can be printed out to replace the original.
If it turns out well, I will post it here, as well as how to print it out (printer settings, where to go if you don't have a printer, the type of paper, etc.).
I'll be heading to Wal-mart and getting the 2 disc DVD set. I'm not going to get a blu-ray anytime soon and the dvd with the combo set doesn't have any extras.
I was wondering, does Wal-mart start selling the new releases at midnight? If they do I'll be heading there then :-D
Is Maximum Movie Mode really a blu-ray only thing? I wish walmart would release the back of the 2 disc cover.
Here's what Wal-mart has posted about the extras:

Yeah. What were WB thinking when they made the 1-Disc DVD? They should've put at least a BIT more! It's really being overshadowed now. It's obvious they're now forcing people to buy Blu-Ray.
