Blue ray or dvd?

  I haven't got blue ray, whats the difference?

  Blu ray is high definition. DVD is not. Blu ray, being Hi-Def, has a much much clearer, crisp image and better sound.
  
  Do what I'm doing. I have a blu ray player in my PS3, but that lives downstairs, and I want to watch it in my room sometimes before I go to sleep, so I bought the combo pack which has the Blu-Ray, the DVD and a digital copy. I don't know about other places, but you can get it for the same price as a normal blu ray if you buy it from play.com. And if you know you're going to get a blu ray player in the future, then what have you got to lose?

  Oh i see...
  Do all ps3's ahve blu - ray in?
  Dave's got a ps3, so would a blu - ray work in that?

  Yep, all do. There's no point in using it though if you don't have a HD TV, which I'm guessing Dave (whoever he is, lol) probably does.

  Well I dont Know if I should get the HBP Blue ray now or wait till it comes out in ultimate edition.I might get the 2 disc unless I get a Blue ray player for black friday.So any of you getting the ultimate editions?

  I just baught a blue ray player!Im definitely getting HBP on blue ray and the Ultimate editions which have alot of extras on blue ray.

  It would work, but you wouldn't see a difference. You might as well just pay the lower price for the DVD.

  there will be many of you out there, like myself that are counting the days until next release date... so the question has to be - buy half blood prince dvd or buy half blood prince blu-ray?
  
  ultimately we all know that blu-ray is better - i don't think anyone can argue with that but for some of us, myself included, theres simply no option, i don't own a blu-ray player or high def tv output... a crying shame so it looks like i'm going to be one of the buy half blood prince dvd people
