Remembering Lily/Window to the Past is so...I don't know man. I feel so disconnected with the world when I listen to this piece of music. Its so sad, but amazingly soothing at the same time. One of the best music pieces I've ever heard.
Yeah. You can download it from some sites online. There was a lot of unreleased music from PoA. I think the only film that we have absolutely all the music to plus more is Part 1. HBP had a few things not included on the soundtrack, I am not sure about OotP, but then GoF was missing a few, like "Foxtrot Fleur", played in the background a the Ball. You can find it on Youtube.
Totally untrue. Half-Blood Prince soundtrack had everything used in the film and more (tracks that weren't in the film or were just used over credits). Deathly Hallows Part 1 soundtrack (even the Limited Collector's Set) is missing a lot of music from the film including the great recurring piece of music that plays when Harry is in the cupboard under the stairs, when Harry & Ron physically fight each other, and again when Dobby dies in Harry's arms. Also the song Humours of Glendart which plays during the wedding was not on the soundtrack.
The most notable thing that comes to mind is the music that plays right when Dumbledore dies to the burning of Hagrid's Hut. It isn't on the soundtrack. I think there was some other dark music that wasn't included that was in the film that I wanted, also.
Hedwig's theme doesn't define that piece. It's just sort of whispered at the end. You don't hear Hedwig's theme in it when it's played over Harry and Ron's fight. But the opening Hedwig's theme during the WB logo is not on the soundtrack, but that I can understand. Humours of Glendart is a traditional Irish jig, writer(s) unknown. It could have been on the soundtrack no problem. Desplat recorded it and we'll never get to grab it or hear it in its entirety.
