The Most Underrated Harry Potter Film and Book

Maybe it is one of the films that's the most hated by fans, but is actually a good film? Or one of the books people like, but don't give enough appreciation for. Which one do you think it is ?

I say Chamber of Secrets.
Honestly, it's not THAT bad.

OoTP by far.

The best overall acting from the trio next to DH, the pacing was great and yes, the editing wasen't the best, but it was still decent enough.

Plus a decent score by Hooper and ok cinematography, you have to admit, the acting and writting improved 1000x from GoF.

I don't think OoTP the book is underrated. I don't really think any book of the series is really underrated except maybe GoF.

I do agree that as far as movies go, OoTP is so underrated it's ridiculous.

Order of the Phoenix was my favourite book for a very long time. It was also the first Potter book I read (I know, I know, I should have read them in chronological order the first time, but what the hell). I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. As for the films, I would say both Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince, purely because 1) They are both good, solid films and 2) They are both undeservedly frowned upon by a large portion of the fandom.

HBP for the books, and a tie between CoS and OotP (which is, in my opinion, one of the best of the series, with some truly great cinematography, design and performances) for the movies.

In terms of script, GoF did the best job of adapting a long book into a concise film, IMO. They decided not to split the series mid-way, and the movie was tighter and more immediately cinematic as a result. It's not my favorite movie by far, but it's definitely the most crowd-pleasing.

i think ootp book is under rated also. That was an amazing book with story and action. movie would have to be hbp...i know iknow but the story it told was good and accurate
