Call me slow....
....but I just realised something!
The infamous line from Prisoner of Azkaban: "Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, when one only remembers to turn on the light." - Albus Dumbledore.
It's a spooky reference to Ron's return in Deathly Hallows! When he returns to the forest by the Deluminator that Dumbledore had given him, he says "I was staying in a pub, keeping away from some Snatchers. And I heard it. Your voice, Hermione. You said my name, like a whisper. So I took it and this tiny ball of light appeared...."
And it's things like this that unite the films and truly bring a sense of continuity and foreshadowing. Like the time when Fred/George remarked about the Astronomy Tower in POA and the original idea to have Dumbledore's office packed full of Astronomy objects (like orbs and that gigantic telescope) in Chamber of Secrets.
Now I feel slow for being the last person in the world to realise this. :-<

" Harry's Premonition in POA
Its funny how much emphasis there is in POA on Trelawny and her prophecy... her prophecies have been discussed to no end.
However I realized quite some time ago that Harry himself had a premonition and didn't even realize it, because it didn't come into being for years. And if I am right in my analysis then his premonition is WAY more important then any of hers.
In POA (page 265 US paperback) he has a dream of following a silvery figure into a forest. (which is never addressed again)
Until in DH (page 366 US paperback) "Harry stared at the creature, filled with wonder, not at her strangeness, but at her inexplicable familiarity. He felt that he had been waiting for her to come, but that he had forgotten, until this moment that they had arranged to meet."
Harry knows he has to meet with Snape before he knew he had to meet with Snape. His subconscious is so aware of the importance of destroying Voldemort before he consciously was aware it was a necessity to do so, so it prepped him for it long before he had any knowledge or skill to do so. It is also what prompts him to follow the Silver Doe knowing it would be safe.
Just an observation on a cool thing Jo threw in to support her story.
So as a matter of discussion does anyone agree with my idea about this?"
It was posted by PrezLeefun and you can find the rest of the discussion here.
I have to agree, I think she thought through story plots and hidden messages long before she wrote each book. Like the dying order of the Marauders...only they died backwards as to how they were listed on the map. I'm starting to re-read the books this weekend and I'll be on the look out for more little hints that I missed the first time around.
She also said that Dumbledore saying, "Did what? Goodnight!!" in Prisoner of Azkaban at the end of the movie was the perfect Dumbledore. Which I agree with.
Dumbledore does indeed mean Bumblebee! I got that right on that show that Dan was on.
