Yes, this is the last day before I'm gone for a while.
But I would like to say this: 127 Hours is a uplifting, mesmorizing and just overall enjoying experience to sit through. I FINALLY found a theatre that played this, and thank god I saw it 'cause its in my top 5 of the year.
James Franco: just give this guy the freaking Oscar now.
Also nods. for Danny Boyle, the screenplay, cinematography, editing, soundtrack, original song for "If I Rise", makeup.
Just another great film this year. The ending was one of the best endings I've ever come across: everything made the previous 85 minutes so sublime in its existance, just so great.
Overall: 9/10. MUST SEE THIS AGAIN SOON!
BTW: the arm amputation scene: I skwermed, I tossed, but I thought its by far the most powerful scene ALL YEAR. Brilliant as ways, Mr. Franco.

I've heard that people have fainted and gotten really sick from the amputation scene. I'd definitely have to cover my eyes for that.
First, after looking pained for about 2 minutes, Rolston (Franco) slams his arm against the rock, but the camera pans down the rock canyon, so you don't see anything. However, the sound of the breaking was just heartbreaking to hear not only the break itself, but Franco's expression of pain. Next, he takes his dull Chinese pocket knife (makes fun of it alot in the film for being poorly made) and slams it into his right arm, right above where the elbow meets. You hear this Operation sound as he pokes his skin away. Just imagine carving in a box with a knife, except instead of carboard chunks flying everywhere, its skin. Not alot of blood actually, just on his face and on his hands. He does take out some white chunky stuff from his arms (I think it was nerves) and it looks like spagheti. After poking for about a minute (mosty reaction shots of him and the clifs around), he pulls free and flies back 2 feet with his arm still in the rock, but he is free.
By far the most intense/powerful scene of the year.
But overall, fantasticly acted scene
