Skip straight to 32 mins in, unless you want to hear that tosser Xan Brooks talking his usual crap.

And for those who are wondering, "Desplat" is pronounced without the "t": Alexandre Despla. Like "Voldemor".

So if he's about to start work on it, does that mean the film is almost done with post-production? If yes, then we definitely could get a trailer this month. :)

He said he'll only start work on writing the music if the film has "some footage" completed. He likes to see rough footage before he starts composing as he prefers to get the music in the style of the film or something like that. So I think we can say there is a near rough cut completed.

God, that is so irritating about the rough cut as JW asked for one, and he would have done it if there was one about a month or two ago... he probs still could... :-(

I think Alexandre desplat would be better than john williams. His score part part 1 had some epic moments in it which I can see him using to the fullest in part 2. And yes, John Williams is brillian but to be honest, I don't really care.

Well, that is just your opinion of course, as is mine. But, to be honest the reasons you gave, are actually reasons why he SHOULDN'T be doing Part 2 instead of JW, as you have said he will use his Part 1 stuff to the fullest as much as possible, that is NOT good as we need ALL epic, NOT some as you have previously stated... plus, judging by your statement of thinking that he will be better than JW and the reasons that you gave for it... this is something you do not even believe, although he should be quite good!

Okay, maybe I should re-word my "statement". I meant, it doesn't really affect me that JW wasn't chosen becuase I think that some of the stuff that AD did in part 1 shows us what he can really achieve in part 2 in terms with creating a really epic score. How's that? :-))

well i think what HE meant (maybe im wrong) is that the epic parts are amazing!! it´s just that there wasnt much epicness to work with and the feew epic parts where cut from the film, like u know, the beggining of FIREPLACES ESCAPE has that EPIC CHORUS!! And they don´t use that in the film, instead while fleeing the dementors they just use other music....and choirs like that!! OMFG, But i Bet he´ll do a LOT of choir for part 2!! battle scenes, gringotts!! that deserves choir no doubt!!

Oh I just realized, if he is about to work on the score, does that mean they will show a test screening soon? Part 1's test screening didn't have the score and was a rough cut of the film. I'm guessing since he is going to work on it soon, it will be in good enough quality to be shown at a screening.

Remember that he only STARTS working on DH2 soon. He's going to see rough cut, take the measures and write new themes (just on paper). They will record it probably on April/May, I think, so there's a lot of time to make a test screening showing the film with temporary music. You know, AD started work on DH1 visiting the set and it was long before DH1 test screening, so don't worry about it :)
