So happy it's receiving good reception. It's probably going to be the box office biggie this Christmas, and now that it has positive buzz, probably even more so.
Oh my god I cannot wait. Been waiting like CRAZY for this one. I wonder when we're going to get the Giacchino score samples-- which is perhaps one of the most exciting things about the film, surely.
I'm sorry to hear that, MI4 will surely kick ass whereas SH2 looks like another 2 hours of weird camera angles and Robert Downey Jr. playing Robert Downey Jr.
Not that I'm saying that Sherlock will be bad or anything but I would certainly take a high-octane Mission Impossible directed by Brad Bird and scored by Michael Giacchino with some incredible stunts and action sequences over Sherlock Holmes. Then again I thought the first one was just not that great.
Hahahahaha. It's unbelievable that Armond White is still able to post his reviews over there. Unbelievable. Like... DO SOMETHING PEOPLE!
He is no longer on there. You have to visit City Arts to read his reviews. He's a stellar critic and my personal favorite because of his massive balls: going against the grain.

So Crucify the ego, before it's far too late, to leave behind this place so negative and blind and cynical. And you will come to find that we are all one mind, capable of all that's imagined and all conceivable.

He goes against the grain to go against it. That doesn't make him stellar, or brilliant-- they have a name for that: "troll."
You call it massive balls, I call it being a troll.
It's one thing to be against the grain. It's another to do this for nearly all good movies -.-
How do you know he doesn't genuinely believe what he does? Have you listened to him on the /Filmcast regarding Bay and Nolan? He genuinely believes what he types. That's not a troll.
The worst thing about that /Filmcast is Dave Chen laughing when Armond is talking. Unprofessional and rude.

I have a hard time beveling he truly thinks Clash of the Titans had directing better than the "mess" of Lord of the Rings. And yes, he called LOTR a mess.
Some negative reviews for positive films this year:
DH2, X-Men first class, Super 8, The Help, Captain America, The Tree of Life, Midnight in Paris, Thor, Blue Valentine. Those are but a few.
Some positive reviews for negative films this year:
The Green Hornet, The Eagle, Battle: LA, Just go With it, Prom, Footprints, Repo Chick, and more.
So you want me to believe one person likes all the films on the bottom list more than the top list. And that's just some 2011 films. Now, similar list FOR EVERY FUCKING YEAR!
Instead of actually listening to the man's reasoning, you harp on him liking what critics deem to be shit and vice versa. Do me a holiday favor and listen to the /Filmcast episode I linked to. His opininos are very accessible and make sense.
I wonder if you've actually read his reviews in full. His TDK review is my favorite. His Hugo review is pretty damned good too, a movie you didn't like much.

Dude, I hate the following critically acclaimed movies: The Dark Knight, Inglourious Basterds, No Country for Old Men, Star Trek, Inception, Hugo.

Te is entitled to that opinion and I've heard the same, most of the complaints being about Jackson's self indulgence, resulting in terrible directing.

The difference between you and him is that you love many others!
Not to mention the fact that his "greater than" list every year just pans the years best and says lesser, similar films are better. Legit. Every year. Same fucking shit.

So fucking what? This is not proof of his supposed intention to simply hate things to rile people up. He believes everything he writes. Read this: http://nymag.com/movies/profiles/54318/

Whatever, I think we've gotten into a pointless argument over whether a film critic is a troll or genuine. In the end, film critics don't mean squat shit, lolll. Let's just drop it

It's fine if he doesn't like a few. But there's just way too many for me to even BEGIN to believe. And yes, I've read many of his reviews.

And most of those are recent. I could go on all day...
