Try to name at least three in each category, but there is no limit beyond that.

Movies that I like that others dislike:

1. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
2. Star Wars: The Phantom Menace
3. Star Wars: Attack of the Clones
4. The Matrix Reloaded (Revolutions does kind of blow however)
5. Avatar
6. The Village
7. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
8. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
9. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Movies that I dislike that others like:

1. The Hurt Locker
2. Tim Burton's entire filmography
3. Brick
4. X-Men
5. X-Men 2

Movies that I am only "eh" about that others seem to love:

1. The Dark Knight
2. Inception
(this is not an attempt to knock Nolan, it's just coincidence, I like Nolan in general)

Movies that everyone dislikes:

1. Van Helsing
2. Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
3. X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Idk, maybe a second viewing of No Country will help.
  • BaneBane Posts: 9,869 ✭✭✭✭✭
It will. I didn't care much for it the first time.

    Perhaps sometime soon.

What did you think of PA2? I just saw it today and, well, I didn't like it. No scares whatsoever, I laughed at so much. It was honestly more of a comedy. Are PA1 and PA3 better?
  • BaneBane Posts: 9,869 ✭✭✭✭✭
I liked PA2, but the first and third movies destroy it. Although if you LAUGHED at it, it's probably not your thing.

Yeah, idk. I was honestly more scared of the long views of the cameras with nothing happening, because the tension was crazy. The actual scenes meant to scare like the dragging, neck breaking, kick at the end, etcetc, made me laugh basically.

Which is odd, because horror movies usually scare me quite easily. Irdk :p
  • BaneBane Posts: 9,869 ✭✭✭✭✭
PA3 has a fucking shitload of long camera takes. By far the most tension in the series.

I think the whole 'it sucks cuz of aliens, bro' is a petty argument.
  • BaneBane Posts: 9,869 ✭✭✭✭✭
I'll go one step further: it's a fucking retarded argument, Indiana Jones is based solely on the pulp style of 1950's and 60's serial adventures which were largely popularized by comics and television. Aliens were almost always a big part of these.

Richard, no. You're disillusioned. It's literally impossible to dislike all of those things. It's more realistic if someone doesn't like one of those three, but to dislike all three is a sign of an underlying mental problem.

I find it impossible and unfathomable to understand how someone could not like Indiana Jones. Raiders of the Lost Ark is the closest thing to a perfect film that has ever been made. It's virtually flawless. It also has some of the best action directing and sets in film history. So no, I really cannot understand it to save my life. Much the same as your mindset toward Lord of the Rings.
  • RichardRichard Posts: 48,703 mod
Well tyats ok, but just because a person doesnt like what YOU like doesnt give you the right to question their mentality. When someone likes something I dont like, im cool with it.
  • BaneBane Posts: 9,869 ✭✭✭✭✭
lol dude my mentality comment was a joke, I'm just genuinely bothered that some people seriously do not like some of those films.

I see. Well Im not the only one in this world who dislikes all 3 of those. If I could see any of those three, I would choose Indiana Jones because it is sometimes fun to watch but its meh, to me. But i actually CAN watch the Indiana Jones films atleast they go somewhere lol.

LOTR and Star Wars, especially, are like our culture. It's an instant classic. I now I now am assuming but I would say the majority absolutely love Star wars.
