Stephenie Meyer "HOST"

by IMDB Since last July, several people have tweeted that made a casting for the upcoming Emma Watson's movie, i asked to one of them that which movie are talking about and told me... "The Host" ... In that month, approximately three people posted a tweet saying about that Emma Watson star in The Host... Today, an actor wrote that he landed a role in the upcoming movie of Emma Watson and Ed Westwick, coincidentally this guy is from Newcastle like the girl who auditioned for the film a couple of months ago... This rumor has gone largely unnoticed, and I'm beginning to think that might be true... What role could play Emma? Maybe... Wanda?

Is The Host any good or is it crap like the Twilight books?

    I love Ed Westwick *W*

I've been meaning to read The Host, just didn't feel like picking up such a long thick book atm... A lot of people have told me that it's pretty good. The story is very different from Twilight. The writing style, too. I read most of the first chapter a while ago... TW and The Host are so different it's hard to believe they're written by the same person :-?

I've heard the Host is a great book, much better than the Twilight saga.

I hope Emma don't do it. It's bad enough that Saoirse Ronan has the leading role.

Lulz, after Emma Watson said Twilight sells sex :p

Though, this isn't Twilight and she obviously is moving on to get into more films. Hopefully she gets some good screen time!

T'en penses quoi de Twilight ?
Je pourrais manger une soupe de lettres et chier un bien meilleur roman.
    Translate :
Ben : What you think about Twilight ?
Magus : I could eat an letter soup and and shit a much better novel.

That exactly what i think about Meyer work (sorry for her)

Ehh I'm more concerned with her role in Les Mis

She's not going to be on Les Miserables. It was already confirmed.

Is it weird that I'm actually looking forward to this?
I just wanna see how on earth they managed to adapt that, and I have a feeling it's gonna be one of those "so bad it's good" kind of films.

All the reviews says that it would have been a great movie if it wasn't for the awful writing from Meyer, which Niccol had to unfortunely adapt.

The MVP is 18-year-old Irish miracle worker Saoirse Ronan (Atonement, The Lovely Bones, Hanna). Ronan plays Melanie Stryder, one of the last humans alive until aliens insert a soul named Wanderer into her body. You can tell because her eyes glow like one of those children of the damned. Melanie's handler, Terra the Seeker (Diane Kruger), wants the Wanderer to invade Melanie's memories and lead them to the hideout of other human rebels, led by Melanie's Uncle Jeb (a slumming William Hurt). But, hell, the Wanderer can't shut Melanie off or up. We keep hearing Melanie's internal dialogue in the Wanderer's head. It gets even more maddening when Melanie is reunited with her former lover, Jared (Max Irons), who now hates her alien ass, and the Wanderer, now called Wanda, falls for the human Ian (Jake Abel). Since Melanie and Wanda are two personalities in one body, the love story is a virtual three-way. "Don't kiss him!" "Yes, I will!" "No, you won't!" Even the resourceful Ronan can't make this stuff play.
    LMAO

“The Host” comes up with a cool twist on an “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” scenario. Instead of a dwindling group of humans trying to survive an alien occupation, the “hero” is actually the parasite who takes over a human host, and it sympathizes with the defiant victim. But then this turns into a movie based on another Stephenie Meyer novel.
It simply offers viewers the choice of Team Hokey or Team Absurd.

I feel bad for Saoirse being involved in this shit. She is, by far, one of the most promising young actress of the past years.

I know. It's sad that young people will be remember Saoirse more for this than for Hanna, The Lovely Bones, or Atonement. And the fact that she rejected to play Tauriel in the Hobbit because of this. At least she has a bunch of great films coming on it's way like Byzantium, How I Live Now, How To Catch A Monster, and The Grand Budapest Hotel. So this will be like a minor film for her. After all, even the most terrible reviews says that Saoirse is the best thing of the movie.

Don't worry, even the neutrals are starting to come to the realisation that Meyer sucks at writing. Then again, with Twilight, I'm surprised they didn't catch on sooner.

Oh please stop your flaming everyone, thought it was frowned upon here. What an immature bunch of idiots. I thought you were all better than insults? Guess not. -world-weary sigh- (now look, you got me throwing insults, but at least I chose a better target who can defend themselves here)

The Host book is leagues better than Twilight series. Her writing improved, the characters were great, and at the end, I really, really, wanted to see a sequel.

strike one for vance? wtf but yea Stephanie myer is not a good writer. theres no denying that.

More like, if her writing is not about her teen fantasies and mormon propaganda, but for actual stories then she would be a writer.
  • Lord StaffordLord Stafford Posts: 27,353 ✭✭✭✭✭
She couldn't write an actual story. That much is obvious.

Strike out out of how many.... cause if it was three, well, you two would have been gone a lot sooner. Yes even you Henrick, mod or not... inexcusable for some stuff in the past. This forum goes way overboard when it comes to Stephenie Meyer, I'm telling you. There is such thing as insulting and such thing as flaming. I thought there was a general no flaming policy, or is Meyer immune from that here? only person I've seen who has a dislike for Stephenie Meyer on here but gives some good posts for her stuff is Richard, he doesn't flame... learn from him. He dislikes her, but he doesn't insult her most of the time.

At least I got remorse for calling you all idiots. Do you got any... or ever had any remorse for insulting Stephenie Meyer?

You can stop right there. In my whole time being here, I've never insulted or offended anyone in an thread. I might had some misunderstandings here (and outside) but I've never insulted or was disrespectful with ANYONE. So stop right there. Because you were the one that was banned already, not me. And you should be thankful that people let you back. This should be enough for you to stop with this sassy behavior.

No one is insulting Stephanie Meyer. People are giving opinions. Opinions are different from insults. So control yourself and don't insult people here.
