I'd love to see the original Harry v Voldemort stand off that we seen in ALL of the trailers for like two years... then it wasnt even in the film.

I know, I would love to see that.

We do have that one of Voldemort on the ground. In the film though, that's where expelliarmus is backing avada kedavra into the Elder Wand, so you can't really see Voldy.

This was in the film. It was edited a shit ton in the final version, it's much darker and the protection is gold rather than blue. And they had spell strands that connected the orb down into the courtyard.

No, it is very similar in the movie, but it's not the same shot. It's a slightly different angle.

I'm just sad we never saw the Gringotts aftermath stuff. There were behind the scenes stuff with Voldemort on Gringotts set, so it's not as if only a few shots were cut - a full scene seems to have been snipped out.

That's because it wasn't finished yet. Most of it are just shots, except the "Why do you live?" scene, they barely cut shots which we're included in the trailers.

I'm pretty sure the guy who plays the Death Eater in that Gringotts shot spoke about lying in pools of blood for hours while Voldemort was screaming and shouting psychotically about Harry. I think that might have been in there.

Yeah, he said when the teaser trailer was released that his character dies at Malfoy Manor. The scene of him on the ABC preview is on Gringotts.

He might have been one of the ones at Malfoy Manor.
But Voldemort never did scream psychotically about Harry. Well he screamed, but this guy was talking about Voldemort actually speaking.

Some of these are actually in the film.

That was all Malfoy Manor. Some of it from there was cut. I'm pretty sure it was an entire scene in itself, but it ended up being flashes while Harry was in the water.

I noticed this after my 6th viewing that the Death Eaters in the first picture were in the beginning of the Gringotts scene. They were walking out as the trio went in.
  • yonythemoonyyonythemoony Posts: 5,638 ✭✭✭✭✭
No. It's after the dragon's escape. There's a guard watching a goblin in the ground. The "Wand-raising, train-stopping" wizard (As Jon Campling called himself) must be pointing at Griphook.
  • IsaiahIsaiah Posts: 3,342 mod
I wonder why they took it out?

I always thought they were pointing at Griphook, who was escaping with the sword. They caught him and then Voldemort killed him at Malfoy Manor.

That's what I thought. I don't think Voldemort was ever at Gringotts.

I mean it makes sense because Griphook was on the run in the book, and he had to enter the bank through in the Invisibility Cloak; plus he was trying to escape clearly with a jeweled sword. Who else would the guards be interrogating?

And if you notice, in the background is the entrance to the bank.

I think the "Why do you live" is the "Battlements" deleted scenes listed in the DVD extras.

And the one with the Death Eaters at Gringotts was probably showing them transporting the goblins and guard to Malfoy Manor.

Wasn't the supposed "view" of Voldemort at Gringotts just people mistaking the architecture between that set and Malfoy Manor?

No, I'm one of the people who can actually tell the difference between Gringotts and Malfoy Manor, and it was DEFINITELY Gringotts he was at in the behind the scenes shots.

I am also one of these people. He is sitting down, and Heyman is standing nearby... laughing.

    Stylistic editing there.

  • We'll also never see, "It's Over" from Half-Blood Prince, etc.

That was exclusively for the trailer, just like 'Don't fight him, Harry. You can't win'

Do you think that line from OOTP teaser? I think I somewhere read the line is from "possesion" scene and it was cut...

I'm sure that it was only for the trailer, as it doesn't make any sense. Dumbledore is basically telling him in this, to let Voldemort mess with him.

I know. The same with Snape, and 'It's over' The same with 'Why do you Live'

But I really think the OOTP one was the only one worth cutting, because it didn't make sense. At least the two you mentioned above would've worked in the film and made it more epic. :D

Neither one of those would have made it more epic. These lines have and had a 'meh' about them.

Snape saying "it's over" would've been truly epic, right before he flees. "Why Do You Live" is okay, but it wouldn't have made that much sense in context, as Voldemort would've been more desperate.

Except, it isn't over. Nothing is by then, apart from Dumbledores life.

I always thought he was talking to Draco. His ordeal, his suffering is over, Snape finished it for him.

You can tell by his positioning and voice, he is further making it seem that he is on the Death Eaters side.

Does he? I don't recall that, but i find it very funny that they only really use the books lines when it isn't going to make sense. They then make stuff up that also doesn't make sense, instead of using something from the book that does.

I doubt it's a long scene. If we got it as a deleted scene it would probably be another 30-45 second one.
