The original Halloween and Rob Zombie's Halloween were fantastic.
Wow. I thought I was the only one that thought Zombie's version was great. I mean I would say that it has its fair share of flaws but once it gets into the second half I felt that it was an excellent remake.
Anyway, I'm optimistic for Halloween 3D because I've heard very good things about the screenplay.

I loved the last 30 minutes or so of it, it's very underrated. He played it very... classic. It was directed well.
Yeah, I'd even say it was the best, but the original was just so awesome, especially for its time. But just like House of 1,000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects, he knows how to throw back to the 70s style classic horror.
The original Halloween will remain the greatest, most well-crafted horror film of all time. If something else beats it in my lifetime I will count myself very lucky for having seen a better film, but I don't suppose that will happen. A few have come close for me, like Blair Witch and Paranormal Activity, but Halloween 1978 is still king.
Oh no! I found Blair Witch to be a stunningly original and extremely detailed work and played to my personal horror film sensibility: what you don't see is scarier and more suggestive than what you do.
Yeah, see, I'm not a fan of in your face or obvious horror because it isn't scary to me. Give me a film like Blair Witch, or a game like Silent Hill, just surround me with cryptic atmosphere and strange noises, and I'm good to go. Torturing people, showing a killer too much, explaining to me everything that is going on-- and I'll get bored. Fast. The reason that I like the original Halloween is because John Carpenter treated Michael Myers like a ghost. Always creeping about in the shadows, hidden, making sounds-- the scenes when you just hear his breathing before he strikes is terrifying as fuck.
This paragraph from Roger Ebert's review of Blair Witch hits the nail on the head:
"Once they get into the woods, the situation gradually turns ominous. They walk in circles. Something happens to their map. Nature itself begins to seem oppressive and dead. They find ominous signs. Bundles of twigs. Unsettling stick figures. These crude objects are scarier than more elaborate effects; they look like they were created by a being who haunts the woods, not by someone playing a practical joke. Much has been said about the realistic cinematography--how every shot looks like it was taken by a hand-held camera in the woods (as it was). But the visuals are not just a technique. By shooting in a chill season, by dampening the color palette, the movie makes the woods look unfriendly and desolate; nature is seen as a hiding place for dread secrets."

agreed! I think they just made to many. That's the problem. They make a good horror movie and when they realize people liked it they have to make like 10 sequels to the damn thing and totally play it out.
I think that's what they are now doing with Scary Movie. The last one wasn't that good at all.

Yeah, I should try to watch it again. It's been a while, years really, since I tried to watch it. But I was one of those people that couldn't get past the shaky documentary style recording on it. I know that's whiny, but it bugged me and I couldn't really get into or finish it.

Agreed.
Although Micheal DIED In halloween 2 how will they do anther?
Well, Michael got 6 shots and survived..got burned, got several shots again, got stabbed..and he´s still alive Anyway, I heard they will continue from Theatrical cut where Laurie stabbed him several times and even stabbed him to his head, so I am very, very curious how they will explain this..
Well, I wish they made a Halloween where its realistic. Like if Micheal gets shot he should feel pain ETC.. and well, I wonder if the same actors willl return if not the skrew it.

Well, they wanted Scout back but she said she wouldn´t return because she was afraid the script would suck..but it was 2 years ago so everything can change..
I need Scout back. It's a requirement. I'm in all kinds of love with her. Not creepy love just, I like her as an actress and she has an amazing on-screen personality. And yes, she's beautiful. Everyone has their Selena Gomez, Emma Watson, etc. fascination-- but mine lies with Scout.
