Complaint/Praise

SS- no huge complaint, maybe some of the lines, but they were cute then so idk/ The casting was spot on

COS- Too long and dragged too much, simple as that/ I liked the dialouge and the basalisk fight

POA- Needed a bit more of the marauders story i think/ The style of the film was amazing

GOF- Mike Newell and the movie itself/ The graveyard scene saved the movie

OOTP- The 45 minutes ot cut footage...fuuu / The darker feel to it is truly great and Daniel is superb

HBP- I would of liked some of the memories/ I really like the last act from the cave to the ending, well done yates

DH1- Malfoy Manor was too watered down/ The rest of the film was a masterpiece iMO, and the trio gave it their all, also the cinematography was on HBPs level

DH2- Needed more character in the battle and some of the editing was sloppy/ The best HP film, period

SS - It started Harry Potter's cinematic adaptation exactly the way it should have started.
    No real complaint really.

COS - Starting from the COS scene it was excellent.
Too long and a little boring.

POA - Good transition of HP Franchise towards the darker side.
    freeze frame at the end.

    GOF - Voldemort
    below par acting

OOTP -All MOM scenes at the end.
"We have something worth fighting for."

    HBP - Cinematography
    Lack of memories.

    DH1 - Camping Scenes
Needed more of Dumbledore's back story.

    DH2 - Snape.Snape.Snape.
    More battle?

SS - It captured the beautiful, imaginative, wondrous feeling of the book with grand sets and beautifully casted characters, but lacked human depth to its plots and was a little long with uninspired cinematography.

COS - Managed to improve greatly in the problems its predecessors had, and managed to be darker and livelier than its predecessor, but in the end was way overlong and had uninspired cinematography as well.

POA - It took the series in a brand new direction, with dark, stylish direction and lively subtle humor. However, the film sacrificed important plot points and character development in favor of developing the world and style.

GOF - Took the series to a mature, darker standpoint and made Hogwarts feel more real than ever before, like a British boarding school. However, the plot was butchered and character development was awry, crammed with uninspired dialogue and corn.

OOTP - It managed to keep the plot less contrived than it could've been by focusing the film on Harry's emotional and mental battle, which worked well on condensing the story. This also provided room for a great deal of character development. However, it felt nowhere near as big, brash, and epic as it should've been, and fell a little flat from its source material.

HBP - took one of the most twisted, darkest installments and transformed it into a dark but balanced piece of art. The film was near perfect from every technical aspect (a standout being cinematography) and the acting performances were great, but it left you wishing you had seen a little more of the darker parts of the novel, such as Voldemort's memories.

DH1 - By now, a technical wonder is expected from any Potter film and this one was no exception. The performances were great, but, as expected from being half of one film, the story felt a little incomplete, and the action wasn't as ramped up as it should've been.

DH2 - As the finale of the series, it worked on any level. Near perfect in every way, but many of the most anticipated sequences were cut down severely due to rocky editing, leaving mixed to disappointed feelings for fans expecting more than they should've.

    PS
Positive - It’s a very enjoyable family film that has a really magical and classic/nostalgic feel.
Con - A lot of the visual effects are awful

    COS
Positive - The basilisk was cool
Negative - The film is too long and suffers even more from the lukewarm pacing. Visually, it’s too bland.

    POA
Positive -Introduced a much nicer, darker and generally more aesthetically appealing tone to the film. It had a good mix of magic and darkness - the castle was a marked improvement.
Negative - The last 30-or-so minutes of the film bore me.

    GOF:
Positive - Very fun and memorable set pieces with a lot of well-done action scenes.
Negative - From an adaption standpoint the plot was diluted too much and many of the characters were molded into caricatures.

    OotP:
Positive - A successfully darker and more mature look on the series - helped greatly by the incorporation of a much more realistic tone not to mention the focus on Harry’s internal struggle is fantastically conveyed.
Negative - A touch more added to the ending would’ve helped the film feel a bit more full and complete

    HBP
Positive - Visually stunning and the brooding ambience is masterfully handled. The Cave sequence is fantastic and the optimum of the film
Negative - Pacing is a touch unbalanced towards the end and the film was unnecessarily toned down.

    DH: Part I
Positive - On a technical standing the film is near flawless and I also found it to be a very wholesome, emotional experience
Negative - A few minor moments where something could’ve been clearer. I dislike Dobby/Bellatrix’s exchange at the end of Malfoy Manor.

    DH: Part II
Positive - Great technically and fantastically emotional. The film captured so much in terms of wonder and scope.
Negative - A few minor point and I think the battle and the trio could’ve been balanced a bit better.

    +Nostalgia, period.
-Lack of vision, dull cinematography and camerawork.

    CoS
    +The Chamber of Secrets scene.
-Unnecessarily long, rehashed score, lack of vision.

    PoA
+Bull's eye on capturing the feel. Refreshingly dark and gothic. Dumbledore's characterization
-Shrunken heads, a little over-the-top acting.

    GoF
    + Alastor Moody, Voldemort.
    - Whhhyyy diddd yeahhhh puuut yooo naamee in daaa- well, you know. A lot of other uncharacteristic moments.

    OotP
    +A very crisp movie. Umbridge.
-Sloppy editing, I did not like Dumbledore much in this movie.

    HBP
+Droolworthy visuals. Excellent atmosphere. Great score. Improved acting.
    -Dumbledore's death lacked something.

    DH1
+The trio's acting, the character moments, the visuals.
-A little slow at times, low re-watch value.

    DH2
+Captures the emotional core of the story with perfection. Perfection.
    -Lack of character-centric battle.

It did, for me. Dan's very very bad at crying. And his reaction to Dumbledore's death, for me, was underwhelming. I was expecting to at least get teary-eyed, but I didn't.

    Philosopher's Stone

    + Casting
    - Cheesiness/VFX

    Chamber of Secrets

    + VFX
    -Length

    Prisoner of Azkaban

    + Emotion, Atmosphere, VFX
    - Ending, unnecessary cheesiness

    Goblet of Fire

+ Fiennes, Gleeson and Richardson, VFX
    - Editing, Script, Characterization

    Order of the Phoenix

+ Casting (Carter, Staunton, Lynch) & Performances
    - Editing, Script problems, VFX issues

    Half-Blood Prince

+ Cinematography, VFX, Atmosphere, Performances (Broadbent, Gambon, Rickman, Felton, Grint, Watson, Smith, McCrory)
    - Script issues

    Deathly Hallows Part 1

+ Cinematography, VFX, Performances (Watson, Radcliffe, Grint), Atmosphere. Everything really
    - Malfoy Manor issues and few script issues, but nothing major

    Deathly Hallows Part 2

+ VFX (Dragon particularly), Score, Performances (Radcliffe, Rickman, Gambon and Fiennes were fantastic), Emotion
    - Script issues, rushed moments, aftermath
  • PS - Absolutely LOVED the casting, I think they got almost everybody perfect
    BUT No Peeves?!

COS - Chamber scenes were awesome
    BUT Way too long

POA - Kids acting ability increases so much between the last film and this one, and it really helps make the film seem more real/
BUT Gary Oldman as Sirius Black?! SB was supposed to be a wreck, but with the hint of being an attractive man underneath the dirt and shaggy hair... Gary Oldman is not attractive... Meh, it ruined my fantasy! :P

GOF - Ralph Fiennes was without doubt the best part of the entire movie
BUT there is something totally lacking in this film. I can watch the others over and over but I hate GOF, it's my least favourite of the lot.

OOTP - Casting of Umbridge was superb. Her acting makes this film
BUT Fred and George leaving wasn't as spectacular as I always imagined and I just feel like all the scenes I love from the book were done somewhat sloppily...

HBP - Tom Felton's acting for me stands out above all others in this movie
BUT total lack of memories, big chunks of the book which I would have liked to see missing

DH1 - Dobby's death at the end was totally heartbreaking and so well acted
BUT There was so much nothingness throughout the film and then when something important was happening, it was rushed or badly written.

DH2 - Alan Rickman is fantastic, Radcliffe is fantastic, Grint and Watson are fantastic... The acting in general in this movie is sublime
BUT So many scenes missing, so little focus on other characters, not enough focus on hallows, and I hated the 19 years later scene (but then I hated it in the book too)
