I too experienced about 5 fatal error messages before finally connecting.
And I dont think it has got to do with the new members signing up. The maximum active members that I have seen here hasnt exceeded 20-25 IMO. And passive members dont affect the functioning of the site as much. I am about to graduate with my majors in Electrical engineering and minor area in Computer Science. So trust me on my observations.
I , however, dont understand why the fatal error keeps pointing to the database.
