Did Wormtail ever regret betraying the Potter's?

Well, some people said that there would be nothing to talk and debate about after the final release... it seems very active to me. So, did he? Did he end up regretting it all along? We all know that he was forced into it by Voldemort, and that must mean that he was threatened into it, live or die... your own thoughts, please!

My conclusion is that, yes, he did! We know that Voldemort classed him as nothing more or less than a coward, a rat (quite literally) and his overall appearance in GOF is really symbolic of that! He was given a hard choice by Voldemort, albeit a truly tough one, and he went down the easy route!

I imagine that deep down he regretted it, yeah, but he was just a coward.

This. Not only did they cut him but completely refusing to even let him try the strangling scene and forcing that ridiculous slapstick exit from the story on him. It was like "Potter, a Parody". :-|

Kloves idea of what is funny has always been on the verge of what one would consider to be 'parody' like... this was yet another example of that. He became too full of himself towards the end. He almost felt obliged to make a constant fool of himself.

It would have been awesome to see his proper death, but the majority of viewers would not understand the "life debt" unless they flashed back to that specific scene in Prisoner Of Azkaban where Harry lets Pettigrew live.

Then they should've flashed back to it or explained it, that at the very least rather than willingly proving your incompetence in comedy writing and showing us how lacklustre you really are overall.

I think he did regret it, but only after he was reminded of Voldemort's fury and dislike for everyone. He thought he would be welcomed back, but instead, he's treated like the vermin he is.

And on the note of the movie, idc he was left out. Doesn't need to be shown.

It would still make sense though. It would hardly confuse the majority of viewers more than the mirror shard, the tabboo, Dumbledore's past, Harry's wand destroying Lucius's, Harry being resurrected etc. It's not as if Yates is worried about making sure the non-readers understand, but the difference is, the Wormtail debt was actually present in the series, the other things I mentioned were even more confused and unexplained than that was.

He wasn't left out. They went out of their way to disrespect the character's importance to the series and the natural poetic justice of the way he was killed, all for cheap laughs. I say "laughs", but I use the term loosely, because that gag just always fell flat when I saw it in theatres. A few audience members gave awkward titters as they do when they realise a moment is supposed to be funny but isn't.
