ya it's weird i don't think i'm underwhelmed i'm excited too i just feel really sad even though i know it's never really over....i just have this panicked butterfly feeling in my stomach as friday gets closer i don't remember a time when potter wasn't actively in my life

I feel like that exactly, I thought I would be so excited after watching the film and happy with it but I just feel overwhelmed and a bit depressed. It's really sad to see the last Harry Potter film ever.

You plan to see it more than once yes ? So ok, take a deep breath, realize your first viewing will be filled with anticipation and feelings of " oh yeah, I saw this...", etc.. Deep breathe some more and relax !

Then see it again, calmer and with more awareness for the beauty of it and you will be fine.

For some reason I am not at all depressed yet. But maybe that's got something to do with Pottermore, and the fact that I think oh wait, there's still the Hunger Games movie, and the two Hobbit movies down the line so I still have stuff like that to look forward to.

I imagine it will hit me sooner or later though.

Posts like this one make me sad for periods oftime

And these ten-fifteen minutes would be used only to show the supporting characters involved in the action. I feel that only Neville was done justice as a supporting character and maybe he was even too prominent compared to other fan favourites. Nagini also seemed more prominent than in the books.

- Hagrid was left out and he suddenly showed up in the forest for very little screentime. Why not show him getting captured ?
- Fred and George had basically no screentime greatly lessening the impact of freds death.I think they had two lines. Same with Lupin and Tonks. Only one scene with them holding hands for two seconds.
- Molly and Bellatrix were in the background during the battle making their final duel feel rushed and out of the blue.
- Luna suddenly disappeared after the beginning of the battle.
- All the other characters : Mr. Weasley, Ginny, Slughorn, Fenrir and many others felt like background extras.

If only they were all given one minute more screentime, it would have felt much more satisfing.

Well you should let it all out Festax. Since I've spent the past couple of days ranting my mouth off about it here, I feel better about it now. I'm not completely chill with it, but I just have to accept it for what it is. Was there huge missed opportunities? I think so, but no matter if parts of the movie are underwhelming, there will always be the book to fall back on.

My advice is to strike your head repeatedly against the wall to induce a concussion, thus allowing you to forget the clips you have seen and view the movie with fresh eyes - of course, the flaw here might be that you forget who all the characters are and have to sit in a dazed stupor of confusion for two hours, but hey worth a shot, right? ;-)

Well at least they had the decency to show him tied up, which I don't think he was in the book. Otherwise people would think Hagrid had swapped allegiances. It's the same with Luna managing to get from Shell Cottage back into Hogwarts before the trio, we just have to assume it happened. :-))
