What is wrong with the epilogue?!

Eighthhorcrux has said people are complaining and aren't happy with it!

I need to know why cos this is my most anticipated moment

No reason to pay attention to those idiots.

I don't think they laughed because it looked fake; they laughed because seeing older versions of these characters is so weird and bizarre.

Or hey, maybe they DO look funny.
  • JasonJason Posts: 7,279 ✭✭✭✭✭
They don't. If they laughed, it's probably because it's weird to see them like that. With kids.

There is nothing wrong with it. At all! It's actually one of the best scenes in the film.
Some people were laughing. :/ Whatever.
It's very sweet. Leaving Hogwarts plays, the aging looks quite believable (they look a bit younger, though). But it's a very sweet way to end the film. And Radcliffe was brilliant!

I would just die if anyone laughed during the Epilogue. Makes no sense! I'm so sorry that happened!

The epilogue was really good! Harry and Albus's chat was so sweet and nice and they included one of the best quotes from the book. Having 'Leaving Hogwarts' in the background made it even better.

The only thing that was weird was that albus was almost as big as harry. Daniel radcliffe is so small! xd

He's even smaller than Emma now, about 5,5 tall.

Why would there be? Apparently, he isn't important... and yet, Harry talks about him (even though he wouldn't know) to Remus in the forest!

They better include a truckload of deleted scenes for the DVD/BD.

They'll probably just include those annoying and pointless deleted scenes, like the ones we have had since OOTP, that have no dialogue and overall meaning.

Could be, but the difference isn't huge then. For me, it sounded the same.

There is nothing wrong with the epilogue...no one when i went to see it laughed. But I guess it was the crew they wouldn't laugh.

Chace how long would you guess the Kings Cross Dumbledore and Harry conversation is? And princes tale?
  • blackvenomblackvenom Posts: 3,257
I envy you, chace. It's such a beautiful scene. :) The crowd laughed last night. And some people next to me were saying: 'What? Harry looks like a grandpa! Hermione looks only 20 years old! So stupid! Why did they include this?' and it spoiled the experience. Well, I didn't have a good audience. :(

I have to admit that emma didn't look that old.

Emma nor Bonnie looked that old. They just had this sophisticated feel to them.

    Emma looked around 27-28, yeah.

I think they all looked good.

Nothing was wrong with the epilogue and nobody laughed at anything at my theater. Harry, Ron, Draco & Ginny looked aged well but Hermoine looked, umm, as she is?

I thought the epilogue was fine, actually. The makeup was much better than in the first pictures they showed. I wish they could have included Draco's nod, but whatever. And I wish they had included a bit more of the adults talking to each other. But I thought it was sweet (the epilogue's never been one of my favorite parts anyway).

Definitely, it wasn't a very good part of the book and I'm glad it lacks a bit of its cheesiness.

The scene WAS beautiful. The acting when Harry is talking with Albus is really good so I can't imagine why they would laugh. The only bad thing about the epilogue was that...everyone looked convincing, don't get me wrong and this is me just being picky, but the girls had some ridiculous perms... :-))
Apart from that, the scene was short and sweet and poignant.

Loved the shot of Harry hugging Albus. It looked iconic.

@JasonAnderson or @chace483 How did the leaving hogwart theme fit the scene? Could you do a step by step description of the epilogue, and describe the music as well? Does it say "19 years later" on screen, and is it in a design, a font, or are there clouds, etc)
  • chace483chace483 Posts: 1,026
It does say ninetten years later...i was surprised about that. I didn't think they would do that. The first shot is an exterior shot of kings cross station and then the family before they run through the barrier and onto platform 9 and three quarters.

The talk with albus was really sweet, they have a short scene where Albus goes on the train and joins James in the carriage and hes just looking around in amazement and i think there's a firework or something flying around his head. It's really good.

How does leaving hogwarts fit? Does it play throughout it or at the end? And is there any lines Harry says before it ends, to Ginny or anyone?

It plays throughout. No dialogue at the end, we see the train leave and then it zooms in towards Harry, Ginny, Ron and Hermione smiling with Lily Luna and Hugo next to them. Then it fades out and the credits play.

I think that firework thing was a Weasley toy, the one Fred and George were playing with in the courtyard in OOTP, the one Umbridge stopped.

I feel bad for those that have an unwitting audience to share this moment with. The screening my sis attended a couple of nights ago had a great audience. When the screen faded to black, only three people did not know what was coming and started to applaud. The entire theatre let out a huge SHHHHHH !! Then the ' nineteen years later ' appeared and you heard one person sheepishly say " Oh, sorry.."

Then she said the tears began to flow from many people and as it ended there was tumultuous applause. That is the way to see this film. She was lucky.
