Potter Ticket Sales DH2
This is what is said on BoxOffice.com:
"The last wave of Harry Potter hysteria is shaping up to be the biggest one yet.
Fandango is reporting more than 2,000 sold-out Potter showtimes across the country, from Anchorage, Alaska to Sunrise, Florida.
The final Harry Potter movie is currently:
• Fandango's most anticipated film of 2011 (according to a December 2010 survey of more than 4,000 moviegoers);
• Fandango's fastest-selling title of the year so far;
• 62% of daily ticket sales on Fandango (followed by Transformers: Dark of the Moon, accounting for 14% of sales);
• Outpacing any previous Potter film in ticket sales on Fandango at the same point in the films' sales cycles.
• Selling twice as many tickets on Fandango as sold for the last Potter summer release (Half-Blood Prince) at the same point in that film's sales cycle.
Many industry prognosticators believe that Deathly Hallows: Part II could give The Dark Knight's opening weekend record of $158.4 million a run for its money. Deathly Hallows: Part II will also try to topple Transformers: Dark of the Moon as the biggest movie of Summer 2011, which would likely make it the biggest movie of 2011."
OMG!!!!!

2000 sold out shows.
I looked up the ticket sales thread for DH1 and a week before the movie, BoxOffice reported that Fandango had reported 900 sold out shows one week before the movie.
Holy crap.
This is the report I found this info on for Part 1:

@Twilight, you just got Stupefied.
~I have NOT read the Potter books, only watched the movies FYI.
We'll just have to see what happens over the next week.
Part 1 had a little over 3000 (reported on Fandango) the night of midnight releases.
Or AWEPRESSIVE?
$36 million at midnight
36-37 mil is my estimate.
I really hope it breaks one record or another.
The opening day record will go down with it I do believe... I'm just worried about the opening weekend record, and beating Transformers overall domestically this year.

"According to a report from Fandango, Part 2, which is already their “fastest-selling title of the year so far,” has also “sold out more than 2,000 … show times across the country.” And while Part 1 had more than 2,000 sold-out screenings before it even opened, the HP conclusion is still “outpacing each previous Potter film in ticket sales on Fandango at the same point in each film’s sales cycle.”
"Update: MovieTickets.com confirmed to EW that they’ve had similar sales on their site. Sold out performances are nearing 2,000 as well and P2 advance sales are outpacing P1 “based on the same numbers of days prior to release.”
So it's still selling well and outpacing all the previous Potter movies.
I think we'll have some casuals. There are more than 14m Hp fans that are out there with money for tickets.
mojo is saying that DH2 will open on 4200+ screens
