I do wish it was Luna, Seamus, and Ernie who fight them off like in the book. Love what Luna says there, about how they're still fighting.
I hope at that part it comes across that they don't have enough energy for a patronous before Aberforth saves them.

Or OVER done it...personally I'm finding the scale of the battle a bit too ridiculous...in the book it was maybe 50 or so death eaters and some creatures against the school, Order, and townspeople. Fairly intimate and small, but fate of the Wizarding World was at stake. It was this notion that made it cool and set it apart from the cliche "epic" battles. Some embellisment for the screen is fine, but I hope they haven't Hollywoodized it TOO much. That'd be a real shame...

Actually, since I've been re-reading DH just this week, you are incorrect. When the trio came upon the dementors there were over a hundred of them. It took the Patronuses of Luna, Dean and Seamus to stop them, and then with Harry's they scattered. It was hardly intimate the way it is described. DE's were swarming throughout the school, spiders and giants as well.

The only thing the swarms of dementors remind me of are those creepy assed flying monkeys from the Wizard of OZ that creeped me out as a kid and still do to this day !

Well, I'm sure it's been amped up for tension and drama, yet perhaps that is the only time they will be seen attacking, and once Aberforth sends his Patronus they flee. We'll see soon enough , but overall I think they will be kept in context. Remember , if you go by statistics, no one should have survived Helms Deep, even with the addition of the elves.

I love this shot. I was so impresed by it when I saw the trailer, one of the best shots. And I bet this scene will be great on the big screen. All that dementors coming at them, and then....POWWWW!!! Amazing

I want to see it. I am mad about no Megan Fox but this new girl looks pretty good. I would not at all be surprised if 3 was a big flop but I want to find out. At least I am not expecting much which usually results with me liking the movie more after seeing it.

The difference is that Deathly Hallows Part 2 has been built up to for 7 films and has every right to be as large scale as it wants. And these thousands of dementors are all blasted away by aberforth, correct? So why does it matter if there are 100 or 1000 if they're blasted away?

I do not have a complain regarding the number of dementors in the battle. It reminds me of POA where Harry used a megapatronus to save his other self and Sirius from a swarm of Dementors. If you're saying that it is ridiculous that the good people will win over a hundred of dementors then say the same in POA. Harry is only one against hundreds of Dementors and he used a megapatronus but nobody complained like this. Besides, test screeners described it as a very cool and shinning moment for Aberforth.

Because that wouldn't just happen with thousands of them, you'd need three people at least to do that (like in the book) this defies logic!

The scale seems fine. 50 deatheaters against all of that and people were terrified and the school was destroyed????? I think a lot of people pictured the battle to be of very large proportions and not something small and intimate. Its not the Skirmish of Hogwarts, its the Battle of Hogwarts.

Based on the clips we've seem of the Dementors it looks like there are maybe a couple hundred. Anywhere close to a thousand and you wouldnt be able to see the sky in those shots.
