I LOVE the eerie distorting version of Hedwig's Theme at the beginning with the shots from Snape's memories. I think that's my favorite part of the trailer, if I HAD to pick.

For me, the tower jump scene might was the highlight of the trailer. Also, the line "I never wanted any of you to die for me."

That trailer was the best Harry Potter trailer I've seen. No doubt about it. The cinematography is EXACTLY how I want it to be. Deep reds, vibrant, operatic and just fantastical. I love that Knight in the Entrance Hall shot and the shot with the Death Eaters casting balls of light posted above. My favourite part: Greyback getting blasted backwards in the courtyard! But since that it's not on there, the Voldemort/Harry Tower Jump was EPIC. And the Snatchers falling off the bridge was also really cool. Overall, a pretty jam packed trailer which has got me even more pumped for July 17, the day I see it!

Yes, I think Hogwarts protections are already down by LV at this point. So I think they are sending an attack on the school.

Hey, Slantee! Yes, I was glad to hear him call LV Tom! ;-) Still not sure if I'm warming up to the tower jump, but at least that's there. I'll admit that the way Harry says "together" and grabs Voldy is fantastic, but it still seems over-the-top IMO. I'm still hoping they'll have a little more of their convo on top of that tower (and I mean book convo, not just the "why do you live").

I also loved "I didn't want any of you to die for me" and Voldy's speech at the beginning...the knight dropping in was a nice punctuation to that!

One of my favorite parts was the shot of Lily and Petunia. The cloudy background was just gorgeous and there was something almost surreal about how they walk towards each other.

Good to know you liked it Gina! I guess it might be sound a little over the top to some people, but hello. We've been waiting for this since ten years now. And I'd happily take any scene where Harry pwns the noseless motherfucker.

Also, I LOVE the shot of Lily and Petunia as well. The shot just looks so beautiful.

Yeah it does look like a different film compared to the rest, but again, while the action and effects are going to be satisfactory, I still say the real heart of the film will lie on the characters and emotion.

In a sense, the story IS the execution of the characters and their respective emotions. I think enough has been retained to satisfactorily package that emotion.

If all he wants to do is counter people and say "Nah you're wrong, that was so fake and/or isn't going to work in the film because they truncated the story", that's entirely his choice to make.
