1. Deathly Hallows - A perfect end with a beautiful story and marvelous chapters. 2. Order of the Phoenix - Easy to get immersed into. Thrilling and political. 3. Prisoner of Azkaban - Amazingly written, perfect balance. Introduction to Sirius 4. Goblet of Fire - Adventurous and mind-blowingly thrilling and imaginative. 5. Sorcerers Stone - A whimsical, beautifully told introducton to a beloved world and series/ 6. Chamber of Secrets - Rowlings' Fairy Tale - The damsel in distress, the chilvarous knight and the monster! 7. Half-Blood Prince - Dark and amazing development to the character of Lord Voldemort.
I am a returning fan of the Harry Potter series, having tired of them about ten years ago, only to suddenly crave the books again this year!
So, rereading them at 23 from the start, having forgotten pretty much all the major details and plot developments of rhe series, I have read up to OOTP, which when I was younger I remember it to have been my favourite!
So, as of now:
1. OOTP 2. TPS 3. COS 4. GOF 5. POS
I know this is going against the grain, but Prisoner has always been my least favourite upon rereading. This must be my third time reading it, and it just didn't grab me as much as the rest!
I really am glad I have returned to these books, and this will be my first time reading the entire series together in consecutive order without a break. Its been breathtaking!
