HP7 as epic as we think?
Ok I know to us its going to be epic beyond believe but my question is this: Will it be epic and amazing to those who only see the films? I mean they are showing a sneek peak of a conversation, why not show something action packed? Something at gringotts? I know its going to be great but im not too sure as great as I want it to be,my expectations for DH1 were high VERY high and that was my mistake. I thought it would be the best film ever LOL. Im thinking DH2 is going to be the best film ever but I dont really want to think that.....So now i will lower my expectations. Just see it with an open mind, and enjoy it.

Of course it won't be the best film ever, but they won't show action sequences in depth (at least, I hope not) because there is only so much action the film can offer, and they don't want to spoil it all. Trust me, it will be "grand and operatic" but go into it with lower expectations and come out mindblown.
As for the sneak peek, I'd rather they showed us just a conversation. I want them to keep action packed scenes for the cinema. I wouldnt watch any action packed scene that was released online anyway - I didnt for Pt 1 and I think that I enjoyed the movie a lot more because of that. By the time DH1 was released, it was like half of the movie was online.
Edit: Too funny, Muggle! You posted while I was typing mine, and it looks like we were thinking the exact same thing!
For me, the last book was the best, most emotional and intense bit of storytelling I've ever happened upon. Even greater than Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, etc. I just connected with the characters more than anything and all the emotional beats had me crying like a sissy.
Part 1 wasn't ever meant to be an action film. It has action, but not much less than the book. Part 1 is a character piece, a character journey. It's about people in a crazy situation trying to figure out what they have to do. It's a sense of discovery with peril around every corner.
Don't think of Part 1 as some kind of crazy epic. It's not. It's far more epic than the other films so far-- they're not at Hogwarts, they're on the road, looking for clues, answers, anything. The odds are not in their favor whatsoever.
Part 2 is where most of the action will be, but as I've said, and as the writer and director has said, it sticks to the book and thus, it's more about the emotion. Rowling was smart to stay honed-in on the actual character development because emotion far outweighs action, always. Never an exception. If you're emotionally invested in something, you take more out of it. Plain and simple.
Part 2 will have fighting and escapes on dragons and a final confrontation between hero and villain, and a far bigger scope than any of the other films. The problem is that the word "epic" is so overrated to the point of sickness. Epic doesn't have to entail how gigantic a battle is. It's epic because we've been following this story for so long, just waiting for the final standoff between Harry and Voldemort.
That's what makes it epic-- that sense of finality and all the incredible emotional moments that lead up to it. Stop wanting Harry Potter to be Saving Private Ryan or Gladiator. It's not like that at all. It never was. Expectations and needing absolutely everything to be "epic" is what brings people down on the quality of the film, not the quality of the film itself.
I don't know about you, but while Part 1 wasn't as "epic" as an actual "epic," it still trounced every film I saw last year in terms of creativity, set design, music, action, and so on. It still remains one of the most well-made fantasy pictures I've ever seen. Drop the need for every frame to be OMG THE MOST EPIC FUCKING SHIT EVER HOLY OMG and get a grasp on what Harry Potter's really always been all about.
