Never read the comics, or seen the films. Are they good?
The films have been fucking crap so far. Yes, even the first two, which many consider good. They're not. Wolverine, however, is cinematic death. As in, when you watch it, you feel like you're slowly dying as your brain cells and eyeballs slowly melt over a period of an hour and a half.
That being said, I really hope that this can be the redemption of the series but considering that the guy who directed Kick-Ass is making it, well, I'm trying to keep my hype levels at the bare minimum.
If I sound harsh about the movies, it's because I am. X-Men is an incredible comic property and the films have not, in any way, done the series justice. They might be well-made on the outside, but they're really, really horrible visions of what X-Men is.
LOL, steady on. So is First Class a sequel to the others, or a reboot? Could I watch First Class and understand what's going on? I was interested in seeing the new Wolverine film, just because Aronofsky is directing, I don't fancy sitting through the first one though after your assessment.
Indeed. Look, I've seen worse movies, but they're really piss poor attempts at bringing X-Men to the screen. Halle Berry was shit, the action was shit, the storytelling was shit, the villains were handled sooo bad... there's just so many, many bad things about the movies so far.
I'm willing to look past that and see what they do with this, though.
Cadmus: First Class is a prequel, it's set before any of the other movies. Not that you should ever watch the other movies. Ever. Especially Wolverine which MIGHT JUST BE the worst movie I've ever seen.
Much like with the new Spiderman and Superman reboot... i'm not bothered about this in the slightest though i might watch the trailer (and the film if it is good) just for the sake of it!
The amount of films that i have claimed that i was definetely going to see, this and last year is massive... this new one is probs going to be no exception as i'm excempt to crappy films, lol!
If it's Matthew Vaugn and Jane Goldman working together it will be awesome. Guaranteed.
Yes, but for Kick-Ass, Matthew Vaugn could run through a nice, green field while toying around and doing whatever he wanted to, but with First Class he is locked in a cell at the Fox HQ, being whipped while the leaders yell "NO, WE DECIDE WHAT YOU DO!"

hahaha loool youre right, he says that a lot but i agree with him in this one, for me transformers is action and a type of plot or something, but i also agree with you, that doesnt make them a pile of shit i like it for the action itself and the effects, there are several reasons to watch a movie, and that does not make it a pile of shit, me for example enjoy some good action and entertaining movies, many people go to cinema to exactly just that! entertaining so dont underestimat those movies
Transformers 2 was pretty bad, and the first wasn't too shabby, though it had its mistakes. However, I have a soft spot for them as I like the VFX, the explosions and hot girls, so they are partly my guilty pleasure. The new trailer looks pretty intense and awesome, but that is in no way meaning it will be a good movie. Probably not. ROTF's statistics stand behind that. And the twins are still in it, so perhaps more racism. Revenge of the Fallen's Super Bowl Spot was the reason I watched the Super Bowl: for the commercials, but I am excited for the film.
Both Transformers movies have sucked the matted crust out of a walrus' anal cavity, but Transformers 2 was so bad that I left the theater in search of God to plead with him to destroy the earth because that film proved that humanity failed as a species and we need a reboot.
