Voldemort's First Body

When the spell backfired at Godric's Hollow in 1980 did Voldy's first body materialize into the "less than the meanest ghost" spirit or was there a body left behind? I was under the impression that the piece of soul left in him was the spirit that got away, but that would mean there would have been a body left behind...?

He was a spirit. He hides in Albania until Quirrel arrives. And later with the Wormtail´s help he made a small body that appear at GOF.

Based on the logic no. Because he "recover" his body at GOF. If a body was left, he could return to it when nobody was at there (because he is a spirit).

In my opinion his body was transformed into the spirit/soul.

remember sirus and wormtail were there...sirius a bit later and wormtail escaped he coulda grabbed the body before he left? i think also he could have still been able to use his powers because the curse didnt kill him either, it just rebounded off harry which destroyed the house...

I'm gonna take the official position that the body disentigrated into the spirit, encased inside the spirit was Voldemort's soul... what was left of it.
