How soon did they start for DH-1 ? June 2010 ? Hopefully, after Christmas they will start leaking little nuggets to whet everyone's appetite and hopefully drive film interest back up again.
The way they publicised DH1...i wouldn't be surprised if we didn't get something in 2020.... But maybe they want to spend all the promotion money on DH2 and create all the craziness.

That's what I think. The "aggressive marketing campaign" could have started with Twilight in June, but will truly kick in during January if they are promoting it as 1 film split into 2 parts. They're going to go all out on DH Part 2.
Blech ! So we have to end the year with Breaking Dawn madness ? That book was so extremely bad there was never any reason to split it. They are merely jumping on the HP bandwagon. They can cut 80% of that book and still make one film out of it . Bella and her " love shield " makes me laugh.

Agreed ! The books were bad and the films more so ! I would not have wanted to wait any longer for Deathly Hallows , but I do get irked that " Twilight " gets the last word so to speak. I read the series with my daughter and I remember we both kept saying." Oh my god ! Will something please happen to make this book interesting besides this devil spawn of a baby ? "

I've never read breaking dawn but if it's as ridiculous as everyone is saying it is then why are they releasing two films unless they're adding more to the story. issy said that Edward and Bella have sex so that's why everyone would want to see it but still? :-W And the fact that it's coming out in the same year...there is going to be some serious competition because twitards will want to kill the excitement that the last HP movie would have come out and the media will build on that also.
Yes, the media hype will be unbelievable for it, if for nothing else than the fact as you and issy stated, there is a sex scene for Edward and Bella on their honeymoon. After that , Bella's pregnancy grows at a phenomenal rate, she drinks blood from a freaking sippy cup , Jacob gets pissy , she nearly dies giving birth but gets transformed into a vampire , Edward retreats into a simpering echo of his former self, we meet a hundred new uninteresting vampires, Jacob " imprints " on Bella's baby ( claims it as his own ) , and the Volturi arrive just to have a shouting match, then everyone shakes hands and goes home.

Well, if anything I hope they put it with Green Lantern as that will be a big audience draw for a lot of the Comic Con people and genre and will gin up even more interest for DH-2. Red Riding Hood and Sucker Punch - not so much.
We will get a teaser trailer in January with The Green Hornet, a Super Bowl spot, featurettes on ABC Family in February, and a special on the film on the Part 1 dvd. Then a final trailer in April or May.
