The Thestral Flight, from OdF.

Such a beautiful scene, with a nice music background. I loved it.

Mine is the office scene in DH with Harry looking at the files.

That scene came out of NOWHERE, and it was so damn moving. Especially with DD giving Harry a wink. GREAT forshadowing.

Yeah and specially when Harry(Runcorn) starts crying, I totally believed it was him.

Well I would have prefered to get the music of the flight from Privet Drive to 12 Square grimmauld while they're flying on the Thestral. I found this music soo epic.

It was great yes, but too short I think.

You only saw them flying a bit, then cut to London and it's over. So the music didn't have the time to be as epic as the others. But that's only my opinion.

This scene! One of my favorites! Dan Radcliffe gave such an awesome performance in this scene along with Rupert. I got teary and this part gives me the biggest chills ever. It's right where this video ends, when we have a close up of Dan and we hear Hermione scream "Ron" The breaker was the music, same as when Dobby dies, it's unbelievable.

For me one of them would be the scene at the end of OotP where Harry encounters Luna posting notices about her missing belongings. She tells him she's sorry about what happened to his godfather and he says "Are you sure you don't want any help (looking for the lost items)?" And she replies (paraphrased)"That's okay. My mom always said things we lose have a way of coming back to us. It's just not always in the way we expect." Just a simple, quiet moment of foreshadowing.

The most underrated scene is when Harry gets the memory from Slughorn (HBP). This is a really great scene, very emotional. The acting in that scene is fantastic as well. Another underrated scene is when Sirius and Harry talk in the tapestry room (OotP). That scene has some great dialog. One more underrated scene is when Harry goes to see his parents grave. That part had so much emotion. This is one of the times that a part in the movie was better than the book. In the book Harry is under the invisibility cloak, and he sees his old home. Or maybe that part just worked better on the page. So those are my picks for the most underrated scenes in the Harry Potter movies.

Haha, this is true! Same with the Grey Lady! Everybody loved it (as do I, it's beautiful) but people call it underrated :p

This certainly is a underrated scene. I love the cinematography. One of the scenes that doesn't use a blue filter.

Well because forum isn't the world. Lots of people on this forum said DH1 was great while a lot of the critics on the internet say it was boring.

Could you point me to a critic who talks negatively about those scenes? This whole concept about underrated and overrated...I dunno..It's all relative and depends on how people react to something compared to your own opinion.

Rotten tomatoes. Read a few critics and you'll get at least one complain.

One or two complaints doesn't make them underrated. I think you are likely to find more praise on those scenes. Otherwise they need some good reasoning for me to take them seriously.

Also if you go on french/german critic websites. I know you don't care about them but I do cause I'm half french half german and there were quite a lot of complaints against DH1 for "being boring".

When Voldemort ask Gregorovitch about the Elder Wand. I felt so bad for him, watching him trembling. And this is the guy who played roles like in The Saint and Snatch.

Yeah I felt bad for him to because from the moment when he says "I swear on my life" we all knew what was going to happen.

How are those camping scenes? I think we are thinking of different scenes. Whatever, let's drop the case -- we're off the track. :)

Alright, but just before I drop the case, so that we're clear, I took the DH1 exemple to show that even if HPF thinks it's a great movie, a lot of people found it boring and expressed themselves on the internet.
That's why the movie and its camping scenes (most critisized) are considered underrated.

But anyway, imo the underrated shots are all the Hogwarts shots (except Buckbeak's flight) we got.
I mean everytime I was watching an HP movie I loved seeing betweem two shots as a transition Hogwarts castle but no one ever gave a word about how great those few seconds were.

Yeah it's great as mentioned above, but it really is too short to get as epic as some other scenes.

To me it feels almost like a transition scene which ruins such a great work.

The entire scene serves Umbridges character perfectly! Shes been a bit of a nuiscance so far but this is the scene were the staff and students realise she means business!

Her triumphant strutt across the courtyard with everyone watching, shes enjoying the power of the moment!

And of course the best umbridge moment in OOTP

    'for now'!

    She so totally owned Albus

Well this scene was great but the ONE thing that ruined it was that they forgot to add the big tower and the rest of the castle in the background.
Look, where did the rest of Hogwarts go (top of the picture) ?

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

compared to this picture where we can clearly see the tower on top of the picture.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

This is imo a very very big error knowing that they did replace the flat background landscape by some Scotish mountains but... forgot to add Hogwwarts.
