Never been to and IMAX movie? Mother of god. You need to get yourself down to an IMAX cinema right now. I haven't seen a harry potter movie there but I've seen other movies. I don't know what American IMAX's are like but there's the BFI IMAX in waterloo which is the biggest screen in Britain and it's really amazing.
It's just a great experience. The surround sound is awesome the quality of the picture is great your seting is great. But i've only seen 3D films at the imax. But still, it should be awesome. I wanted to see DH at the BFI but it's sold out. Richard, type BFI IMAX into Google images and you'll see.
IMAX is incredible. I saw DH Part 1 in IMAX at midnight. i waited nearly 7 hours in line, but every minute of it was worth it. It always seems in my area(South Florida) that the most hardcore HP fans come out to IMAX for every midnight release.
The next day I saw DH again, at a regular local theater and the quality, vividness, and audio of the film was nothing compared to IMAX. I almost felt like i was watching a bootleg film.
With the great quality comes a high price. I bought my tickets online. $15 each plus a $1.50 online processing fee. $16.50 just for one ticket, and i bought 4 of them. Total was $66. But i will definitely do it again for DH Part 2.
I'm seeing it in IMAX tonight, can't wait. I've seen the past three Potter flicks in IMAX so I don't want to spoil the tradition (but yeah, it's expensive)
IMAX is awesome. My IMAX theater nearby is about 1.5 the size of a regular theater, but I saw HBP in a museum IMAX theater which was about 4 times the size of a regular theater, no lie. And the beginning was in 3D. b-(

It's the best cinema. Just check out what your Imax's are like and see a film there if you can ; )
