WHOOOOOOO!!!!
there must be a composer you can made suite or symphony for 20 minutes long... this can do only two composers - Williams and Zimmer...
desplat can't do this physically
OMG YES!!!!!!
i underestimated him ,it sounds incredible, i wanted to wait until the film but OMGORFMHGIKETNBHKRJSRK
but for now i know that deathly Hallows isn't like the other book, very very different that the three first, so i have to said that John even is a good composer (may the best of his generation) isn't the one we need for the part 2, don't consider is the last just that is just too different
But i will always have on my heart JW score but I'm really happy they keep Alexandre (and one more because he's french ^^)
and its ******* AMAZING!!! :D
Desplats music will soon be heard in the upcoming films The Kings Speech,
directed by Tom Hooper and starring Geoffrey Rush, Colin Firth and Michael Gambon,
and The Tree of Life, directed by Terrence Malick and starring Brad Pitt and Sean
Penn. He next starts work on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, the
conclusion of the Harry Potter franchise.
H. Zimmer - 160 BPM
J. Williams - Duel of the fates
Don Davis - Neodammerung
Some king of this, must be during the final battle...
compare these tracks with "Malfor Manor", "Sky battle", "Obliviate"... Even deaf will hear the difference...

Also, Alexandre Desplat is an amazing composer and completely proved his worth with his Part 1 score, my personal favorite since Azkaban.
Finally, Desplat wrote many great new themes for Deathly Hallows, so the fact that he's doing the rest of it just means that those themes won't get thrown under the rug with a composer change.
In general, this bodes very well for all of us.
Lord Stafford.
John is one of those composers who never gets turned down and I can tell you for a fact that Williams was not turned down for this. Heyman even said that if everything worked out that Williams would return.
Clearly it didn't work out, so instead we're getting a different, yet amazing composer instead.
But I'm thrilled we have Desplat!
By that judgement, they never should have had JW leave in the first place... then Doyle and then Hooper (he was crap though, so good in that case) it remains a simple fact that JW was and is only the perfect and suitable and right choice for Part 2 and should of been for Part 1 also (even though Desplat is good)
Plus you're now saying by that judgement that he should have these themes flowing thoughout in Part 2 without creating new ones, this would be unacceptable on my part since Part 2 is totally different, JW personifies epic, Desplat doesn't. Part 2 is war epic, none of Desplats films to date have been epic and war orrientated (other than Part 1 of course, but i mean war type epic)

It's not the producers, or the directors, who choose the composers. They pick composers, and whoever has a clean schedule at the time, if they are willing, goes ahead and composes the score.
After Azkaban, Williams distanced himself from Harry Potter. Sure, he ALWAYS said that if everything worked out that he'd be glad to come back, but in this case, Williams went with Spielberg-- whom he ALWAYS goes with. No surprise there.
Really there is no one to blame for it. Things simply didn't work out. Neither Heyman, or Yates, or anyone for that matter stopped Williams from Part 1 and 2.
Lord Stafford.
Why WOULDN'T Yates want him back if Williams wouldn't do it?

Sounds like you're just upset for the sake of it and trying to lay down a lot of unfounded blame. That wasn't a douchebag comment by the way
