Running Time?

The wikipedia thing has now been changed to 164 minutes, which is equivalent to 2 hours and 44 minutes. I think this is generally too long for a Potter film, and is surely edited, since the old one said 2 hrs. 36 min.

When do you think the official info will be released and how long do you think the film will be?

well the running time INCLUDES credits so if the actual movie is 2 hours and 30 minutes and there are 10 minutes of credits then 164 might fit

Well the thing you have to remember is that even if it were 2 hours and 44 minutes, you would really only watch 2 hours and 34 minutes of the thing. Which feels to you like much less, but really, each Potter films is about ten minutes less than you think it is. So it will still feel roughly as long as Chamber of Secrets if so.

Now obviously each scene will not end at the very end of a minute, I was just rounding up or down to the nearest minute. As you can tell from this rough accumulation, there are some tight spots and also a lot of scenes are very long and drawn out. If the end credits of this version (which I created, BTW) were roughly ten minutes, we could expect a running time of up to 2 hours and 35 minutes. I don't think the prospect is yet out of the picture.

is it out of the realm of possibilities that part 1 will be 164 minutes? i think 120 minutes seems more realistic thats also what test screeners said.....but im thinking they may not have edited or cut thefilm yet

I'm thinking we'll find out 17th-25th when the BBFC post their rating, they also post the running time on the site. For GoF it was they rated it on the 17th October (release 18th November), so hopefully soon. I hope it's closer to 160 minutes than 120, but my guess also is it may be shorter since the test screening. I have a feeling they'll cut a few camping scenes because some mentioned it was a bit slow during the middle.

The test screeners said that DH1 was between 150-160 minutes without end credits. So no, it's not out of the realm of possibilities. Actually I'm pretty sure the film's running time is more than 150 minutes in total.

The times for all the movies that you know are all WITH credits. Therefore, without credits, COS is really only 2 hours and 30-something minutes, and OOTP is really only 2 hours and 10 minutes.
