I'm starting to strongly believe that...

... The added scene with Voldy and Harry is not actually going to be in the film, its probs used just as a promotional scene for the trailer to hype it up and keep people wondering. My reasoning behind this is that it can't possibly be in Part 1 unless the rumor that was heard about ages ago on another site that was saying Part 1 might/may start with the cut battle at the end of HBP, though as i'm sure everyone knows thats now not the case... so thats clearly out of the equation. The reason why i don't think it will even be in Part 2 is because Voldy doesn't appear to even be at Hogwarts by the time of day the scene indicates, its at night when he arrives there. The only other option/explanation for Part 2 is that its before the final duel but its dawn at the time of it, so unless they get bored and go up to the clock tower to have a little chat and a cup of tea or Voldy comes back to life again, or he stays the night there at Hogwarts and has the duel in the morning like how it is... well i don't know and i don't see how its going to make sense or work at all. But thats Yates or whoever else for ya isn't it?!

Because it also appears to be sunny outside in the talking scene, or at least not dawn so any ideas?

It is sunny out in the forest scene and when the death eaters attack the castle and in the final confrontation. I think the scene is in the film before the duel like you said. I don't know where they are, but they are in Hogwarts.

Don't bank on anything in the trailer being night or day. In the courtyard scene, Voldemort's nose doesn't look completed if you view the shot large enough, so they may not have fully completed the effects when they put the trailer together, which was before June. They also film some scenes in the day and then add the night effect in post production. However, the scenes could still be finished, so I don't know for sure. Anyway, It seems like the "Why do you live?" scene is gonna be really good though and even more so in context. Yep, that's Yates and Kloves for us - giving DH the epic finale deserves. :)

Its not sunny in the forest scene, its dark. Oh yeah i didn't take that into account... but do you remember that i ages ago was the one that first showed you lot and noticed that about his nose? and i do hope that if the talking scene at the tower is in that you are right and they change it to night so it makes sense in terms of timing, thats what i meant about Yates and Kloves... although i too, do hope that we get the finale us loyal passionate fans deserve!

There is light in the forest. The sun has come up or is coming up. It feels dark because they are in a forest. Harry is tied up with these weird dark robes in the scene where Harry says i have something worth living for. I think they might just float him back instead of having Hagrid carry him. We will have to wait and see on that. They could go either way.

Also the fact that Voldemort says why do you live? and harry says i have something worth living for suggests to me that this is after the forest again scene and that Voldemort thinks Harry is dead and then he realizes he is not. I have no idea how he gets out of this. Also scenes do get cut, but i think that it is unlikely they would cut the scene where Voldemort realizes Harry is alive.

Yeah they probs don't even have Hagrid in the forest, very disappointing... because this defeats any cryworthy moments the battle might/may of had with Hagrid crying while holding Harry dead body. I'm guessing now we won't see or even have Harry under the cloak only to shortly reveal himself? very bad decision, unfortunately i'm not going to be sad... thinking that Harry was supposedly and could of been dead will be completely out of my mind now!

I just wish they wouldn't change so much, its so simple to occassionally keep vital points and moments but Yates and Kloves can't and don't seem to want to keep anything important from the source material, they prefer to change stuff instead... rather than have something that would of been emotional, now its too predictable!

But we've discussed this issue of changes/additions/cuts countless times before and I would have thought it's pretty clear why the filmmakers do it.

I really hope they do have Hagrid carrying 'dead' Harry, but as long as they can make it work and make it emotional (which I'm sure they will) I'll be fine.

They might have Hagrid carry Harry, but i could easily see them not doing that.

I think they keep things in the spirit of the book for the most part. I think they need to be a little bit tighter with consistency and so on, but a lot of that is problems that exist in the book or because the series was not finished when they started filming it.

I also think that Harry looking tied up in the scene suggests that they might not have Hagrid carry him, but Harry might have just gotten tied up at this moment.

Its probably or at least possibly what going to happen isn't it?

  • The fisrt half of the battle takes place at night (forest scene, random courtyard scene) and the second hald takes place as the sun is rising ( Harry vs Voldemort, great hall courtyard)

In the poster the sun is starting to rise over the castle. So the daytime battle scenes have to be very close to the end

About the lighting--at the end of HBP when the Dark Mark is cast into the sky, it is night, but the clouds are bright gray. So take into account the fact that lighting shouldn't matter in this scene. I dearly hope it's in the film though. :/

i think this may be simply for the trailer and will not make the final cut im fine with it either way.

I think the lighting can, of course, be changed, but it is one of many things that points to this scene being after Harry is 'killed'.

The poster is apparently just an illustration, well according to some here anyway.

I noticed something when watching the trailer regarding the right sleeve of Harry's jacket. When he's facing Voldemort about to be killed, the sleeve is fine; however, in the courtyard scene it has rips and tears in it.
