Yes, OOTP could've been much better, but OOTP is Jo's favourite movie because it "captures the dark feel of the book", and so we should not have much of a problem with that movie because it was somewhat like Jo imagined it to be. Sirius' death was poorly shot, yes, but he has improved a lot with HBP and Dumbledore's death was quite effective, and would've been epic if the score would've given support to the scene, which it did not. The tracks "Dumbledore's farewell" is one bad composition and so is "The killing of Dumbledore", but it is totally Hooper's fault and not David's.
As far as the omission of the info on horcrux in HBP is concerned, yes it bothered me initially, but then think of this : WB had already decided that yates would direct the last two movies so yates KNEW what he was doing and believe me, we'll get to know a lot of stuff about the horcruxes in DH, I'm TOTALLY sure of that.
And guys, think of this : This guy has put so much detail into the last to movies, there's Augusta Longbottom, the grey lady, the prince's tale, dobby will be re-introduced, horcruxes will be re-intorduced, and then there's Yaxley, and all those snatchers and death eaters. The basic plot would've been the same even without these characters, but Yates wants to stay true to the book and wants to make the readers as well as the non-readers happy. He's putting in his BEST, believe me.
OOTP was nice, he improved a HELL LOT with HBP which is my personal favourite, and I'm sure DH is going to be EPIC.
So yeah, I totally support Yates cause I know how difficult it is to adapt a script from a book and still managing to make a movie with a fresh feel to it, while staying true to the story.
