Can't wait for this! Read the book last summer, and loved it. Been waiting for this for a while now. Jensen Ackles needs to be Dale "Barbie" Barbara, the marine... he would be awesome in the role.
3 actors have already been cast: Natalie Martinez (“CSI:NY”), has been tapped to play Deputy Linda, Alex Koch will play Junior Rennie. and Colin Ford (We Bought A Zoo) is cast as Joe.
Very short teaser showing some of the characters and stuff... first two shots are part of the immediate aftermath of the dome coming down -- which is my favorite part of the book.
On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester’s Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener’s hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when—or if—it will go away. Dale Barbara, Iraq vet and now a short-order cook, finds himself teamed with a few intrepid citizens—town newspaper owner Julia Shumway, a physician’s assistant at the hospital, a selectwoman, and three brave kids. Against them stands Big Jim Rennie, a politician who will stop at nothing—even murder—to hold the reins of power, and his son, who is keeping a horrible secret in a dark pantry. But their main adversary is the Dome itself. Because time isn’t just short. It’s running out.
I loved Rose Red (I recorded it, loaned it to someone and never got it back :( ) , It was great too, had the book, something else I loaned out and never got back :-w . The Stand is definitely a favorite too.
Had to watch the pilot online, because I was without power for a couple of days and missed it on TV.
Absolutely loved it! Only thing I didn't like was that they changed Barbie's character quite a bit. It will take some getting used to. In fact they changed quite a few of the characters. Aw well.
The pilot was still great, and I am looking forward to the rest. Happy to see that the ratings are great~!
New episode was great! The tension is running high and new storylines are emerging.
Favorite scenes: The whole house-on-fire scene, and Julia's announcement on the radio.
Dean Norris (Big Jim), and Rachel Lefevre (Julia Shumway) were on twitter tonite Live-Tweeting the show. Rachel mentioned something I did not catch! The actor playing the reverend is from the first Twilight, the guy who gets killed in the boat -- Rachel's character Victoria is one of the three who kills him. Small connection, but nice.
The cop who was acting a little crazy throughout the episode got out a gun and shot the dome, which rebounded and hit the main cop woman's brother. This is the second episode to end with her cradling someone she loves dead :(

Big Jim has been cast... Dean Norris from Breaking Bad.
Ignore the Jason Isaacs stuff... has nothing to do with Under the Dome.
Also Dodee and Phil's characters have been cast...
And rumors of Mike Vogel playing Dale "Barbie" Barbara are surfacing...
