I think the trailer was good I really love Robert Sheehan as Simon Lewis and the Moriarty guy is playing Hodge! I love the Pandemonium club scenes and the shadowhunter scenes. Kinda hoped they'd show Magnus Bane on the trailer
The clouds/sky bit on the trailer reminded me of the Harry Potter trailers
Ive read all the books. They're ok, but they get kind of boring after awhile. Its like another vampire vs werewolf story just with shadowhunters and demons added in.
"The sun persists in rising so I make myself stand."
I dont know...I stoped after the 3rd one, just started the 4th one and got bored....but watching this actually gave me chills! I think the vision of the story is quite good

I agree. It looks like what I imagined it to be (except for the actors). I'm interested to see how they do some of the demon fighting scenes though....

Im re-reading the series right now, for the maybe 4th time or so. I watched the trailer not even 2 days ago.. The trailer looks 100 times cooler than how I imagined the book!!!! I can't believe we have to wait until next year to see the movie!!!!! AAHH!!

I agree. The only one who looks like i imagined is Simon. I pictured Jace to be more attractive, Alec younger, and im not really sure what i pictured clary to be like, but it wasnt Lily Collins. It'll be interesting to see if the movie is actually good though.

Yeah. I really love Simon's casting. And Alec really looks old...he's supposed to be 17-20 right? and the actor's like nearly 30.
I don't think Lily's hair is red enough to be Clary's. and they didn't even dye Valentine's hair :S
Do you read Clockwork Angel? they're also trying to develop a script for that
They did the right thing. I mean, James Newton Howard has been a A list composer over the last 20 years, but he never had a franchise of it's own before Hunger Games, and it's good to have a particulary unknown composer who can make his big breakout with a franchise.
Ironically, his score for Troy was rejected because in a test screening, the audience thought that it was very old fashioned.
His latest work was for the film directed by Angelina Jolie, In The Land Of Blood And Honey (another irony, because his score for Angelina's film, The Tourist, was rejected and he was replaced by James Newton Howard).
And it seems that this was confirmed months ago:
I’m guessing you’re not talking about the score — the score is the instrumental music composed for a film. In this case the composer is Gabriel Yared who won an Oscar forThe English Patient. I’m guessing you mean the pop songs that often show up on the soundtrack to a film — as for that I don’t really know, but it’s early in the process to have begun selecting songs. Usually the director would want to be able to watch at least a rough cut of the movie and get a sense what songs would fit and where.

As for the font they definitely didnt steal it haha. Its the most common movie font ever used. The Trajan font...
The book is nothing really special but this may end up as a fun adventure flick.

What a way of ruining one of the best tracks of the decade.
In regards to the trailer, this looks quite good.

I really love the Simon and Clary ones:
Alec:
I know the actors aren't very ideal to what I've imagined but I'm not going to complain until I've seen the movie

Out of that list i have only seen 1408, and don't remember the score.
