Don't eat late. Go ahead and feast on them breakfasts and lunches, but keep dinners smaller and try not to eat past 6-8

Ok thats what Ive been doing.

I eat a small breakfast, then a medium dinner and around 6 I eat something else and thats it for the day.

I eat eggs, beans, wheat bread, salads, corn and I even got the Splenda sugar which has no calories. Oh and more fruits and water. I also have the propel zeros to subsititute the juice and sodas.

BTW I will excersise mon-thursday 45 min a day (I listen to the social network soundtrack LOL) because I work fri-sun long shifts and I dont have time really. But Ive stopped eating all those fat foods.

dude I'm on the same boat. I've been doing brief sprints and ab workouts to build up my stamina/heart so that I can move onto more vigorous workouts in the next few weeks.

    Basically:
-no "liquid sugar" as in no soda, juice, nothing, just water
-up your fruit and vegetable intake
-include fish and plain chicken in your diet

Also remember that in order to lose fat, you HAVE to burn more calories than what you consume each day. If you work out burn say 300 calories and turn around and consume another 300 calories, you're not going to lose much, if anything at all. However, the working out will eventually catch up to your caloric intake, so keep at it.

Concerning salad, it's no miracle food. It is a lot healthier for you than most things, however, it depends entirely upon what you actually put in the salad. If you drown it with ranch dressing, you're getting a lot of calories.

The best weapon against weight loss is persistence and patience. Nothing will happen over night, or even in one week. It's a very slow process. Drink a lot of water to keep your metabolism going, watch the calories, and sweat as much as you can. But, respect your heart. It's not wise for an out of shape, overweight person to all of a sudden start a hardcore workout routine because your heart may not be strong enough to adapt that quickly. If your chest feels funny or you feel an irregular heartbeat, stop exercising and relax. This isn't meant to scare you, just keep it in mind. Only work out as much as your body can take and do not overdo it. Eventually you will be able to handle heavier workouts, so just stick with it.

Ah ok, I hate all seafood but i love every chicken out there lol. Im drinking propels for now because i have trouble eating without soda or juice i need to have a bit o sugar so thats all the sugar i get. Ill drink alot of water though. I had pain on my sides but thats just soreness I guess.

Wow. Never thought the day would come! :P Seriously, I'm really happy for you Rich! =D> Good for you! Especially in your case try and limit your intake of fast food. Home cooked meals, even stuff like hamburgers and fries, are ten times better than that pink-slime-filled nastiness at Burger King. Also, remember to eat lots of fruits and veggies and, if possible, have chicken or turkey over beef.

Drink a lot of water, Rich. Especially if you are holding in water-weight.
If your body doesn't get enough water, it will hold in whatever you give it. Drinking a lot of water can help you lose it.
Don't go to Fast-Food places at all. NO SODA. If you do, get diet at least.
A big thing for me is, I sprinkle salt on EVERYTHING, haha. So cutting back on putting more dressing, salt, ketchup, sugar, icing, etc. can help a lot in the long run.
Little fact: For every 10 calories more you burn off or don't consume in one day, you will lose a pound over a one year period.
I would suggest to start with cutting back your biggest guilty pleasures first (soda, fast-food, icecream), and then slowly work into a routine. Don't try to lose too much at once because that is just as bad to your body as gaining it all at once (especially for your skin and muscles).

Congratulations, Rich! A few years back, I was going through a stressful period; that led to me eating more, and getting out less. I didn't have a job, and it was the summer, so I couldn't exactly join a course. I was already on one. I then got pissed at being overweight, so I lost 3 stone in three months. I was working out, through the pain and the occasional burnouts. I kept on going, burning a massive amount of calories over the course of a week.

I would spend 2-3 hours in the gym, get home, eat dinner, and then go out jogging. I also did ab workouts, and weights. At times, I would go to the gym seven days a week. Some will say that is stupid, and I won't disagree, but I've seen the results. I'll go back and say that I was by no means a 'fat boy' and it wasn't as though I was eating more. I was just doing less.

I don't have the stamina to stay in the gym that long. I would literally keel over.
  • Lord StaffordLord Stafford Posts: 27,353 ✭✭✭✭✭
Well, I have asthma. Albeit, is is mild. I still find it in myself to spend an hour and a half on a bike. I still find the energy to spend upwards of four hours in the gym. All because I enjoy it.

Even if I enjoyed it I couldn't physically pull it off. Not yet anyway.

But anyway, yeah. I should probably slow down. I'll get fat if my metabolism slows down any more.

Out of curiosity, what would you normally have eaten?

No, it's not that. It's just that it seems when some people go on diets, they drastically cut back on the caloric intake that their body is used to. For instance, let's say you're used to consuming 3000 calories/day and suddenly you cut back to 2000. Well, your body is going to detect that it's being starved and fight back. You get what I'm saying?

Same. My body is starting to slow down so I'm trying not to eat like I'm 12 still.. I was 120 pounds then. I am the same height now, but over the past 6 years I've slowly gained weight. I realize that I will actually get overweight if I keep it up so I'm attempting at being healthier. I don't want to participate in the Freshman15. Haha.
I'd like to stay at my weight or lose 5 pounds, but that's it. That would put me at a healthier weight.
I am too lazy to keep up with eating better.

It looks like your body is missing those 320 calories that it usually would have had but, of course, you don't want all those extra calories. Just some of them. So next time add a piece of fresh fruit and a 1/2 serving of chips to your 6-inch sub.
