If any of you live within the pink I BEG you to please watch the weather ALL day and have some sort of radio handy.

If you live within the red, keep high alert as well, the main threat for my area is 2-8PM so I have some time to get ready to follow this.

It's 76 degrees right now at my house. We already have a tornado on the ground near Huntsville down here. It's going to get ugly today in Kentucky/Tennessee. TorCon value of 9, plus the chance for fast moving long winded Tornadoes.

Wow. Be safe, Brett. But is this usual? Isn't it too hot for march? I mean.. It's still winter. :O

We never really had a winter this year, it was wet and occasionally chilly but it's been fighting to get warm for awhile. Today's temperature is very unusual though, it might get close to 80 degrees today! Plus the pressure is dropping. It's perfect ingredients for strong storms.

Its going to be rough next couple of months weather wise- Im very close to Mississippi in north Alabama and we haven't had much word on when the storms will fire up again. Kentucky is in the most trouble today, I don't know if anyone knows or has family there but there's potential for deadly tornadoes there today... The kind that could rip a whole town in less than a minute...

You know what the weirdest thing about this is, while the south has high temps and tornados, the north where I am at is getting snow and ice today...how weird is that. About 400 miles away from the storm here and we have snow and ice?? How weird is that...

^ These storm systems are crazy like that, usually if Chicago gets a blizzard we get a tornado lol

Btw the High Risk area has been expanded into South Indiana and South Ohio.

Good to hear, man.

I'm thankful that we don't have tornados, earthquakes or other natural disasters where I live. It might be crazy to face something like this.

Went right over me. It was fucking terrifying. Holy shit. Storms don't usually bother me but seeing large trees falling over from my apartment and egg-sized hail trying to shatter my windows was relatively alarming.

Luckily, I was left out of all the nastiness today. My town was in the red but all we got was some thunder, rain and now wind. All of it happened north and south of me. Thanks for checking in on me @RyGuy and @Ash, I appreciated it. Everyone else, I hope all were safe and stay safe during these systems!

This is just the beginning folks if the start of this tornado season is impression for the rest of the year then this will get nasty. Gahh :-<

Yes, I believe that we are really in for it this storm season. Our winter was mild but I don't think we will be so lucky with spring. :S

Yep everything's fine here. A few tornadoes touched down within 20 miles of where I live though, but the most we got were winds of pure insanity and massive hail. Luckily my vehicles weren't damaged.

I know of at least four deaths in lower Indiana though, and a police cruiser was hit by a tornado this afternoon. Not sure if that resulted in any casualties however.

While tornado season is generally from March-June, they can occur any time of the year if conditions are favorable. (We had one here Dec 31, 2010.)

Well, I remember that when I was living in Orlando we had a hurricane warning. It was in the middle of February. It was scary... But I'm actually kinda ignorant about the weather in the US. Maybe, I don't even know how to explain the difference between a hurricane and a tornado.

Wow...that is absolutely heartbreaking...and to think this is only the beginning of the season. Everyone on here stay safe. We are in for some real bad ones this year and everyone make sure you keep yourselves safe and alert.

Apparently, the tornado that tore up 2 towns in southern Indiana was an EF-4! This is going to be one bad season!

On April 27th last year remember I posted a thread saying the tornadoes in my area may effect me being able to watch the first DH2 trailer, and of course it did. I went to college in Phil Campbell, Alabama and had to detour at the college and stay at my friends house for rest of the day, holed up in a storm shelter. This tornado missed us by 3 miles. It might be one of the biggest that's ever hit the earth, and I shudder to think of what would have happened had it hit a very populous city like Birmingham...

And in case you guys haven't noticed that Convective outlook changes every day so if bad weather comes in, for example, next tuesday... You can look and see if you're in a danger area right here in this thread.

Tornado hit my neighborhood a week ago. Just got power back again, and a lot of damage ;(

Haha, thanks! No deaths or anything that happen, so just a lot of house damage, which is good!
