Some sketches of characters for one of the many pitch's to WB for the first Harry Potter film. I stumbled into these by accident and they are fascinating. What are your thoughts?

Wow, they are really nice and different. I can't imagine what an animated series would have been like, I just can't see it in any way, probably because they didn't take that path and I can only imagine what they actually made of it. Especially the darkness of the last films portrayed into an animation, it surely would have been really interesting to see though.

I love the designs, very dark and creepy but I think they are really nice, a very very different approach which is why I think a lot of people don't like them haha. I am happy with what we got in the films but down the road I would love to see an animated series done in a very stylized approach.

The figures look so stiff though, I think the animation may have been a bit blocky, however the textures and depth and hopefully lighting would have been nice

Eh...they look kind of weird. I'm glad we got the movies live action, as I doubt an animated series would have got beyond the first two or three. I never want an animated series for HP. All that comes to mind when I think of that is the horrendous animated LOTR movies. And it would only add fuel to the fire that these are kiddie flicks.

I'm glad we got a live action franchise as well, but I'd rather take this kind of breathtaking, chilling animation over, say, "Alvin and the Chipmunks"-style.

I too am glad that we got the movies we did, but I wouldn't mind seeing HP done in this animation either. I think it would have been interesting.
