Okay, I know the trailer itself is shitty and all kinds of terrible, but:
"Hurry up, Qui-Gon! You don't want to be late for your celebration!" *cuts to a shot of the celebration at the end of the film... which by that point, Qui-Gon is dead*
Hahahahahahaha hooooly SHIT I wish you could see my face right now... I'm laughing more than I have in weeks... I turned it off after 24 seconds... Hurry up Qui Gon! We all came just as soon as we thought you were dead
"If you make yourself more than just a man... If you devote yourself to an ideal... You become something else entirely- A Legend."
I've never seen Star Wars in my whole life. Now I'm not planning on ever seeing it.
Episode 1 is kiddy but not nearly as bad as this commercial makes it out to be, and still enjoyable despite some bad acting. Episode 2 is better than Episode 1, has a much better story and an amazing second/third act. Episode 3 is amazing and the best of the prequels, and arguably the most emotional and tragic. Episode 4 is amazing. Episode 5 is amazing. Episode 6 is very good.
However, my argument that Episode 1 being childish intentionally to provide amazing contrast to how dark Episode 3 is was a brilliant troll by George Lucas still stands after all these years.

Yeah, Jake Lloyd is terrible, Natalie Portman is okay for one of her first movies, and Jar Jar is the most annoying thing ever. On the other hand, Liam Neeson, Ewan McGregor, Samuel Jackson, Ian McDiarmid, Terrance Stamp and BRIAN BLESSED.
Yeah people act like Episode 1 is just bad all around, and while it certainly carries some lameness there are a lot of great aspects as well. The action is fantastic and very well shot/staged (one of Lucas' strengths), effects are great, music is amazing, it's actually legitimately sad when Anakin leaves his mom, Qui-Gon's death was amazing, Obi-Wan vs. Darth Maul kicks all kinds of ass, the art direction is phenomenal, etc.
Too bad people let a few stupid things kill their enjoyment overall. It's not a bad movie. I've seen bad movies.
I saw the preview for this film in front of a 3D film in theaters, so the trailer was in 3D and on the big screen it looked phenomenal. Really want to see it.
Actually my sister and i have been watching all on the movies on bluray in preparation for this since we got the blu ray nine disk set for Christmas. We're currently up to episode V. I wish George Lucas had in included the original versions of the movies not the updated ones. Theres something about the non CGI that made the movies, oh well.
Episode I 3D has received some new negative reviews on RT, which actually dropped it down to 59%, meaning it's now a negative rating (rotten tomato)...yikes.
They will release them all. Most people are waiting patiently for the OT, and people like me have to see Revenge of the Sith in 3D or they will croak and die. Just have to push through the first two!

I'm taking my son with me Saturday night! I'm excited for another chance for SW on the big screen and being able to take my son. He was born the year Phantom Menace hit theaters, so he's never had the big screen experience.
I actually really like Phantom Menace. I know people have mad hate for Jar Jar, but eh he is a minor character and the rest of the film more then makes up for it. I actually find little Anakin more annoying at times then Jar Jar, but it works out alright.
THIS. If it wasn't for Phantom Menace, I wouldn't liked Star Wars in first place. And I found pathetic people whining about the prequels, it's the same story, for God's sake!
People do just like to hate. I don't get it either. Phantom Menace is good. I remember people cheered all through the opening scene once the music started for the opening. Good fun. It will be cool to be able to see the prequels again and to see the originals in the theater for the first time.
Honestly I think the prequels are deeper and more emotional than the originals. The acting isn't always great and neither is the dialogue but the same could be said of the originals as well. Carrie Fisher's performance in Return of the Jedi is pure dogshit.
Also, the Ewoks are far more embarrassing than Jar Jar. Jar Jar was dumb but he was good for the kids, and beyond Phantom Menace barely got any screentime. The Ewoks on the other hand came into play in the final episode of this huge epic space drama which was incredibly out of place. You don't put shit that goofy and comical at the very end of something like that. It was jarring.
It depends on your own experience with the films I guess. I grew up watching the six of them, and I never thought the prequels were terrible or anything, they were and still are a lot of fun to watch. Just the fact that we get to see how everything was before the Empire is amazing. Right now I was watching the last battle between Luke and Darth Vader, and the way that scene goes with the epic music, remembering how Vader was once a child who loved his mother, makes everything much more emotional.
I was never very fond of Carrie. And, judging by her career since, i'm not the only one. Mark didn't fare much better. We all know how well Harrison has done. From a carpenter, to the most loved actor of his generation.

I like her in A New Hope and Empire for the most part, but in Jedi she just hammed it up bad. I mean just look how terrible.

She's still kind of how i see Emma. Who, however unfortunate it may sound to people, will never be a particularly good actress.
