I just got a 360 and I'm in need of some games! Skyrim sounds good. I really want L.A Noire and Arkham Asylum. L.A Noire is rated M though, and I'm 13, but I've heard it isn't that bad.
LA Noire is spectacular, the problem I have with it, is it's very hard to run over pedestrians. But if you are allowed to play M games such as that, go ahead. I recommend it for alot of fun, it's open world so you can explore the city, but you aren't allowed a gun in freeroam.

I'll just show my mother it's page on Common Sense Media - it says that there is nudity, but not in a sexual manner. She'll be ok!
Bioshock 1, 2, Infinite out in 2012 Mass Effect 1, 2, 3 out in March 2012 Halo Reach Gears of War 1, 2, 3 Alan Wake Bayonetta Skyrim Oblivion Red Dead Redemption Fable 3 Lost Odyssey
The majority of the gameplay relies on the player examining the facial expressions of the people being interrogated, and this is heavily broken because there's literally nothing to guess, as it comes down to the fact that sometimes innocent people will act nervous, and guilty people will act perfectly normal. In the end it's almost impossible to dictate the truth by reading the expressions because the developers did not do a very good job with it. For example you'll think, oh this guy is guilty as hell, he's acting normal so he's probably just putting on an act-- and when you drill him, you end up being wrong. And then, on the dialogue trees, you're sometimes given extremely cryptic things to say that you're not really sure what they actually mean until you do it, and it ends up messing up the whole thing.
Secondly, the game, as I mentioned is incredibly boring overall because you're very limited as to where you can go, and almost every case is just as redundant as the last. You mope around each crime scene looking for clues, you find a lead, you interrogate, you end up being wrong, you find another lead, there's a boring and horribly executed footchase and sometimes a boring and horribly executed gunfight. In the end every single case plays out almost the same, and there's very little spice to the actual gameplay.
Had it been thought out and executed much better, it could have been a good game, but as it stands it feels more like a botched experiment gone wrong at best.
That being said, it's just one guy's opinion, and plenty of people have liked the game, so by all means check it out for yourself. In the case that you love it or something, I wouldn't want to be "that guy."
Alan Wake is very very story driven but has decent enough gameplay, excellent graphics and music, and is inspired by Twin Peaks. I'm actually playing through it for the first time right now myself and I'm having a blast with it. It's also pretty creepy.

Awesome! I think I'll get it then! I'm liking the Walkthrough's I'm seeing.
The great thing about 360 games is that there are5+ years worth of great games for extremely cheap prices at Gamestop, for the used ones. I got my new 360 just a week ago and I already have 8 games.
Alan Wake used is $17.99 at Gamestop, Gears of War is like $4.99, Gears 2 is less than $10, and so on. You can compile a decent stack of very quality games for an inexpensive amount of money.
An incredibly atmospheric story that takes place in an underwater city built by a totalitarian that wanted to escape the grasps of the American government. It's a first person shooter, but it's unlike Call of Duty type games in that it's exploration based and very story driven. It also has one of the greatest twists in modern gaming, if not the greatest.

Oh my gosh, sound so good. It's on $9.99 preowned too! Oh my gosh! I have $50 combined - I'm thinking Alan Wake, BioShock, and Arkham. Would you say BioShock is ok for a mature 13 year old?
Assassin's Creed 2 Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Assassin's Creed Revelations Red Dead Redemption Some Call of Duty, not all, just 1. World at War is the best IMO
Not a big fan of GTA myself, they don't hold my attention very well at all. I end up turning them on, fucking around for, well like you said about 10 minutes and I'm done.
Anyway, try some Arcade games such as Hydrophobia, Rock of Ages, Trine 1 & 2, Bastion, Limbo and From Dust.
I guess most the following were already mentioned here, but whatever. I LOVE LA Noire with my heart. It's amazing. Play it. There are also the Arkham saga with Asylum and City. Despite the reviews, both HP7 Parts 1 and 2 are insanely fun. I love playing them. And if you own Kinect, Part 1 will add some more fun for you. Obviously try Lego 5-7. It's incredible. Alan Wake is only coming for the PC in March, but I heard it's really really good. And another game that I really love, but most of the reviews were rough on, is Alice Madness Returns. Play it, you won't regret it. Mirror's Edge will be the thrill of your life. An unforgettable experience. There are also the Assassin's Creed games which are great, especially the 2nd one. And the Bioshock saga. Amazing games.
There are so many games... these were the only ones I could come up with so far. When I remember of some more, I'll post here.
Well it's not that they're bad games. But they just don't deserve the hype. They're just first person shooters with the same game mechanics, same gameplay, only new envoirments. And they release these every year. And every year they beat selling records, while masterpieces such as Arkham City, even though it did have its glory, was overshadowed by Battlefield 3 and MW3.
I can't wait to finish Arkham Asylum and buy Arkham City! Is it better?
Arkham City = Arkham Asylum x5
Everything is better in Arkham City. Story, gameplay, soundtrack, graphics... EVERYTHING It gets you hooked. And when you reach the ending... gosh, what a thrill.

Joker dies
Glad to hear! Arkham Asylum is awesome in every way, but I think it's kind of repetitive.

This is available for regular Xbox, which on 360 you can play regular xbox games, so buy GTA San Andreas, it's like 5 bucks.

So many amazing games overshadowed by some repetitive crap coming out every single year.
