Re: ASSASSIN'S CREED Discussion | Syndicate
Yeah you know Black Flag feels really long from how I spent on the sea. Also in black flag, idk about you guys, but I never really did fast travel.
In Rogue, as I said there are like 3 maps. Theres a city New York, and there's two separate sea areas. The problem is that you may have a mission in New York and then the farthest sea map and there's no fucking way in hell you aren't gonna fast travel to certain locations.

Re: ASSASSIN'S CREED Discussion | Syndicate
And also that sucks about the modern day. Ugh there's so much potential for them to expand it, and Rogue adds to that potential in an interesting way. It just makes me sad that they're probably going to continue to water down the modern story because there's 100 games that can be made.
I'm sure they can find ways to advance the modern day story without having to give it an ending. Black Flag did a decent job advancing the modern day story, Rogue added a teeny tiny bit of advancement but it was more secondary info, and from what you guys are saying it seems like Unity does less.
I just hope Ubi hears fans wanting more modern story and advance it in some way. At least go back to artifact hunting, even if it is with Templars and Abstergo, I want something more than sitting at a desk getting info for higher up at Abstergo.

Re: ASSASSIN'S CREED Discussion | Syndicate
Gameplay very similar, some interesting cool tweaks. When you turn templar, when you run around you have to be wary of assassins on rooftops, in hay, behind corners, aka wherever you're used to hiding as an Assassins you now have to watch out for which makes it interesting.
The length of the story is short though. Unity is the real game (which I hope to play soon whenever I get my ps4 in the upcoming weeks!), this one is a nice puzzle piece that perfectly fits within all the stories, but it's short. There's a lot of stuff I haven't done in terms of maps because there weren't necessary for the story like beating gang dens which are kinda like borgia control areas in brotherhood or defeating forts. Sometimes they're way out of the way of missions and you need to purposely go out of your way to beat/unlock them.
Sea battles and stuff like that are basically exactly the same.
I don't think it's better than black flag. It's essentially the same game, with some tweaks and a different story. It's a good story and Shay is a good character, but it's not really long enough to really immerse yourself in it like any other game. Like, any faults or problems you have with previous games you may have, we had a lot of time with those characters and they FELT long. Heck, it might turn out that Rogues story is the same length. I don't know exactly, it just felt shorter compared to others.
If you liked Black Flag's gameplay, you'll like this. Story is good but short. There's tie-ins to 3, 4, and Unity and every tie in you'll find yourself smiling at I'm sure. Overall good, not great.
Also modern day is just like black flag basically

Re: The Official Common Room Thread
Great to have the forum back! Even though it wasn't very active, it was still such a big pool of source material and memories. I grieved for the content.
I'm so happy to have you guys. Can't wait for the Newt Scamander era to kick off!

Re: Christopher Nolan's "Interstellar" Thread
-Movie is not Nolan's best, but still an incredible experience unlike anything you've ever witnessed. This last part is not fully evident until you've left the theater for a few hours and realize you can't stop thinking about it.
-Regardless of a few filmmaking flaws, the ambition and scope of the film is unparalleled.
-The screenplay is a perfect blend of science and philosophy. Somewhat hard to follow (also due to the fact that the music often overpowered the dialogue) but absolutely begs repeated viewings.
-I think I'm going to have to see this at least twice more before I can accurately analyze it.
It can probably speak for itself that when I got out of the theater I simply couldn't speak. I just couldn't comprehend what I had seen unfold on screen. It's quite an amazing experience.

Re: Christopher Nolan's "Interstellar" Thread
Nolan is very similar to Shakespeare. He loves to use the first act to introduce all of the characters and players. The second act he introduces problems facing all of these characters in various ways with complex plotting, then the third act the proverbial shit hits the fan.
