Re: VIDEO GAMES Discussion | News/trailers/gameplay |
I got the first PlayStation in 1996 and played the hell out of games like Crash Bandicoot. After only really playing Pokémon on my Nintendo Game Boy before then, this was a big step for me in my childhood.
Then came the beast that is the PlayStation 2 and the golden era, in 2001, and games like Grand Theft Auto III, which changed everything for me. Gaming became an even bigger part of my life through playing through years of excellence. The titles on this console blew me away.
In 2007 I bought the PlayStation 3, the first sign of evolution, next-gen, with exclusives like Uncharted and other games such as Grand Theft Auto, Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, and the Batman Arkham series.
Now I'm playing on PlayStation 4, looking to the future, and seeing that more greatness awaits. I'm truly thankful for the brand Sony created; it's a special time to be a gamer.

Re: VIDEO GAMES Discussion | News/trailers/gameplay |
I got my first Playstation in 1998 when I was 7 years old.... Haven't looked back since. Before that I played a Super Nintendo and a Sega Genesis but once I got a Playstation I dropped everything.
I had a fun time playing Spyro and NCAA nonstop. There were some demo discs that I loved that had Einheinder/Jurassic Park on them.
Then I got a PS2 in 2001. MGS2 and GTA3 changed my gaming life. I started putting in more hours than I could keep up with.
I played golf during the PS3 years and only bought one to play MGS4. I didn't even play GTA4. I didn't get caught up on this generation until 2012.
However....
I've followed the PS4 since the day it was announced and bought a Day 1 edition. This will be my most intense generation yet I think.

Re: Rate/Review the Last Movie or TV Show You Watched
Fury: 9/10 - Really good war/action movie, with fine acting and a good story. However there is one scene in the middle of the movie with the soldiers and two women which seemed to go on forever, and either should have been cut down some or taken out completely. It takes away from the rest of the movie.
Annie (2014): 7.5/10 -- An okay remake, a good family movie. The new story they did for it was pretty good. Loved how they did most of the songs including my favorite from the original -- "Hard-Knock Life", I thought the girls did really well with that song. Jamie Foxx's "New York" song was pretty good. However, Cameron Diaz was absolutely appalling performance-wise as Miss Hannigan. She RUINED my second favorite song of the original -- "Little Girls". Absolutely horrible performance from her.

Re: ASSASSIN'S CREED Discussion | Syndicate
I already expressed my thoughts to Staff but....
Unity's story left me majorly underwhelmed... It was a brilliant piece of character assassination and a tacked on future plot that made almost no sense... the storyline jumped and played out like an episodic lifetime series in a hurry to reach its finish, which also turned into a catastrophic mess as well as a blatant money grab:
"Since all we care about is your money, please keep searching Paris for good memories as Arno"
Give me a break.
This desperately needed a longer development time and an Auteur handling the story/design.

Re: Movie Trailers AND Movie News discussion
So far, Annie, Mr. Turner, and Fury were leaked. Supposedly, Interstellar was leaked too, but there's no links.

Re: The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 - Official Thread
All I know is that the movie is shorter than the other two and has far more action scenes, so I don't get the negativity. I wish that DH and The Hobbit would've got this kind of split into two movies thing. They didn't cut scenes needed for part, rechanged the split point of both films and recut them, or added subplots cutting scenes from the book.
They brought a huge sense of scope to a rushed book, and improved the story better than what Collins wrote it in first place. I wish that the Harry Potter books would've got this kind of adaptations if a real screenwriter worked with it (which is the reason I'm excited with Fantastic Beasts, because Yates working with Rowling without Kloves it will be amazing).
Lots of YA franchises would wish to get this kind of films.

Re: The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 - Official Thread
Nope, this isn't the installment that won me over for this franchise. I'll be honest, I think the first one is very flawed and the second one way overrated (which felt like an improved remake including an extended first half of the first one to me). And then, this one came, which I would rate in-between the first two. Some pro's and con's:
Pro's:
- Addition of Julianne Moore and Nathalie Dormer.
- Score
- Direction
- Jennifer Lawrence gives her best performance yet
- Emotional arc with Peeta
Con's:
- Not enough drama (except the one mentioned in the pro's) and action
- Cinematography, it's clearly shot digitally and the shaky cam is back
- Not enough Hoffman, Dormer, Sutherland and Harrelson
- The rebels hating on Peeta (after his first speech on television (stop rebelling) when he's clearly being threatened and forced) felt very dumb
- So far, this is a very predictable story after Catching Fire (which is disappointing after Catching Fire's twisty ending). For example, who didn't expect this arc for Peeta?
- Liam Hemsworth, always guarantees points off
6/10 (the first one a 5/10 and the second one a 6.5/10)

Co-op has been awesome.
I'm on sequence 10, nearing the end.

Re: The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 - Official Thread
Taking out the added scenes, and leaving only the scenes from the book, it's basically one hour and half, and it was the first half of the book. Unlike The Hobbit and Deathly Hallows, the split was taken to improve the book, not slowing it down. Besides that the split point was just where I wanted it, but adding a few things to make it work.
