Re: Official Fantastic Beasts Thread - TEASER TRAILER RELEASED
I don't know if this has been mentioned here or not, but this has been in the works for more than a year, so hopefully things are further along than they are letting on.
'Since that original break in news, we’ve been left to wonder how far along she and WB are in the filmmaking process. Now we have more information on just that!
THR discusses the new deal, highlighting the big win for new WB CEO Kevin Tsujihara, who played a huge role in securing the deal with Rowling. Jo even praised his efforts, saying the deal “would not have happened without him.”
One detail in the article in which we are particularly interested is that the deal has been “more than a year in the making.”'

Re: Official Fantastic Beasts Thread - TEASER TRAILER RELEASED
Rick, you really should read The Casual Vacancy because it's exactly the kind of character-driven fiction you'd enjoy. This is not a murder mystery, it's not a thriller, it's not a defined plot with twists and turns. It's simply a novel that shows how a single, sudden event affects a group of characters. I can completely understand why the press would criticize it because it is, essencially, unfocused. It's not supposed to be a mainstream hit as it was advertised as. But as a fan of character-driven stories, The Casual Vacancy hit all the right notes for me. Every character is horribly flawed, and that's what makes them so human. This book made me believe I lived in Pagford, that I knew every single one of these people. I understood how they came to make each decision they made in this story. It is one of my favorite books and it's not because it's written by JK Rowling. Even the press can be biased and judge it comparing to what Harry Potter was.

I don't know why you're so keen to see your familiar characters. All I can think about is sooooo much potentionally new information about the wizarding world not in Harry's pov.

I wouldn't want some cheap cameos from the original series' characters if not amazingly well handled. A flashforward like in The Hobbit would honestly piss me off.

Re: Official Fantastic Beasts Thread - TEASER TRAILER RELEASED
One of the things I love about this whole thing is that it's a way of continuing and expanding the franchise while still preserving the integrity of the grand, emotional ending that we had two years ago (both on and off screen). This should be a completely new era/beginning for the franchise.

Re: Official Fantastic Beasts Thread - TEASER TRAILER RELEASED
I love how suddenly everybody has time to HPF. ♥Not sure if this is sarcasm or not, but if it is, it's really quite unwarranted. A lot of people don't have the time or honestly, a care in the world, to spend 24 hours a day here. When Potter ended, people left because the forum no longer had its original purpose. Now that that purpose is back, some people will return. Believe it or not, many people were here to discuss news, not because of the people here, and it's useless to feel betrayed.
And if that really was genuine, then I have to say I agree. I'm glad people are coming back. :P
